I read the jokes on Twitter to have him in a 30 second restriction per game

Be patient for what? He has to get up to game speed and conditioning, before you can evaluate anything anyway. Of course they aren't going to throw him out there for 30 min or something, he never played that much in the 1st place. 15 min a game should be the expectation for a couple of weeks.

 

OK he's finally coming back...just in time to boost his trade value.

I'm worried that we have a logjam at the position with Vando/Rui/DFS. It's the same problem we had last year when Prince/Rui/Vando.

My hope is that Vando will take minutes away from....Gabe?

Likely he'll take away minutes from a combination of guys...but I'd like for him to take majority of Gabe and Knecht's minutes...which according to last game....was about 33 minutes...so he will likely take ALL of Knecht's minutes, and a portion of Gabe (maybe 5 minutes?), and then some combination of Rui/DFS/LeBron minutes...

Vanderbilt, Finney-Smith, Rui, and Lebron can't possibly coexist at 3-4, if we get another 5. Let's just forget about Wood in this scenario.

Something is about to happen, I have no idea what, but the clock is ticking.....

 

Based on the wording being used and the timing, I still think this is a play to try to salvage some of his trade value in hope of a trade.
The constant reporting (which never happened), the he's back but not back, the he's available but may not play. It's a good strategy if so, we really need his contract if we can't get him.

In an ideal world, him and DFS would be a menace on defense, would love to see that as a basketball and Lakers' fan

 

Anything is possible, but Vando is under contract for 3 more seasons after this one. That's a risky trade considering his injury history. However the Bulls seem to move in mysterious ways. While all eyes are on Vucevic and Lavine, Vando and Hayes or Reddish, match salaries with Colby White, who is also supposedly available. That would probably cost a FRP, but then Rob can turn around, and dangle Vincent, and a 2nd for Valanciunas.

I wouldn't exactly cry about that trade.

 

damn why is Coby White available? He would be a major upgrade...I doubt we have anything that can entice the Bulls to part ways with him

I agree tho...Vando/DFS/Rui/LeBron just not enough minutes to go around....esp if we're getting a big and not giving up any of these guys.

My guess is maybe Rui gets traded for a big (Vucevic?)...or Vando + Gabe gets traded for a big (still vucevic?).

what a breath of fresh air to have this guy back on the floor, man. we've missed exactly what he brings.

He's good. If he can stay healthy and his minutes increase, I think there's a chance Rui might be gone.

 

If he's healthy Rui becomes easily expendable... His energy and fast twitching hands with his foot work on defense end is really beautiful to watch. The guy had 3 steals and 4 rebounds in 12 mins!

 

Like JJ experiment with Vando and DFs together Will that work next to Reaves, AD, and Lebron? Worry about Vando on offense but that a lot of length and athleticism to handle.

The loose balls, rebounding issues, and defense certainly are imposing
