C Bags had 5 dudes in the paint with Cam and Vando in there. That's not going to work well for a team whose best attribute is attacking the paint
It usually is. Defense, especially in this era, will continue to be minimized and greatly overshadowed by the flashy statistics.
He has to be better - no doubt about it. 1.8 ppg is pitiful man - you can't be this bad on offense and his defense isn't exactly making up for it
Considering he hasn't even been averaging one basket a night going it this one, it was a good night for him offensively. Doing more of what Ham says he needs from him for this lineup to work.
he's a decent passer. still waiting to see us use him to spring lebron or AD on a weakside screen, then flash to the middle if they leave him and go to the basket with the option of getting up a short shot or dumping it off to one of our best scorers in the paint. that kind of stuff needs reps, though, and his injury cost us there.
Going to be real hard to score against Minnesota if Cam and Vando are in the same lineup. i like him coming of the bench with Wood: their size and skillsets help each other and their strengths help compensate for each other's weaknesses.
IDK but Vando needs to be starting if we hope for him to get to where he was last year. Not playing him nearly enough minutes...but he also needs to hit open shots otherwise teams will take him out of the game like the Nuggets did in the playoffs last year
he's playing 7 fewer minutes and getting up 2 fewer shots per game. it's hard to get a rhythm when you take so few shots, and (thus) his fg% is absurdly low. he averaged 7-8ppg the past couple of years. that's about all you're going to get.
Had a nice rebounding game but yeah, his offensive game has been flat lined which is rough even for his standards. Movement wise, you can tell he's getting healthier each night with more pop. Just needs to shake off the rust so he can threaten to score a few buckets a game and so the defense doesn't treat him like the invisible man.
He's one of the worst offensive players relative to his talent that I've ever seen. That being said I think he's found a nice role as a backup to Cam. As long as both of them aren't in there together and you play one only it really helps the defense and the offense can be good enough
He has to be playing hurt or still not confident in his foot. Look how confident he was and how he was finishing last year
how many minutes is he playing with lebron and AD? imo, this was the formula. it's the same reason reddish looks good. but vando is actually a better defender than cam. and yes, i think vando probably came back too soon, too. it was obvious (and maybe still is) that he wasn't 100%.
I guarantee you with a League Average coach who knows how to use his players, Vando would at least be meeting his career average in scoring.
No Vando love after last night? For the first time this year, he looked like he had the bounce in his step and was the defensive impact player we traded for. Sadly, I'm sure he'll inexplicably get only 12 minutes next game.
