For Len Bias, feel that is more like an unfortunate tragedy. Yes, he used cocaine, but many people were doing so at that time and didn't die from it. MJ talked about walking into his locker room filled with cocaine, weed, women, etc. when he was a rookie.
LOLOL …. who puts up a bold red YouTube banner on their video without proof reading it for spelling. Unless that was an intended some sort of confluence of words? Concubine and cocaine?
Another short/combo guard… Really thought the lakers would go wing with the 17th pick. I do trust the FO/scouting dept as they have such a great track record, esp recently. Can’t wait for the season!!
I think he's technically more like 6 foot 5 but he's got a 6 foot 10 wingspan. As Rob pointed out, good positional size for a combo guard. He's also ahead of the game as far as diet and physique. He took nutrition and training seriously at IU.
I just remembered I think @abeer3 said he was slightly taller than Reaves who’s 6’5 3/4”. And double checked with a search and couple sites near top have 6’6”. https://www.google.com/search?q=How...fino&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari
Nice research! Good finds LT and proves your point all the way - he’s no small guard. Kudos! I thought I read he was 6 foot 5, but all of these are showing 6 foot 6. I’m pretty high on this kid as our draft pick, btw.
sorry, without shoes: jhs: 6'4.25" reaves: 6'4.5" reaves was 197lbs at draft time (guessing he's closer to 210 now). jhs was 217lbs with a 6'10" wingspan. so if you want to imagine how big jhs is, reaves is a good comparison, they're almost exactly the same size. christie's about the same size, too (little lighter).
6'4.25", 189lbs, 6'9" wingspan. https://www.nba.com/stats/draft/combine-anthro?SeasonYear=2022-23&dir=A&sort=PLAYER_NAME part of why i just called jhs 6'6" is that most nba listings are with shoes (iirc), and that's what he'd be in shoes, same as max and reaves.
Short and stout May hang about And be pleasing to the ladies But long and thin Goes further in And produces better babies!!
JHS was a great pick at 17 I just hope we don't regret passing on Cam Whitmore....we've always passed on wings for some odd reason in drafts
I guess having his college coach NOT vouch for him really raised some red flags that many teams were not willing to second guess.
