I agree in theory but when you get a chance to get a guy with this kind of talent you still grab him. Whitmore is a rotation player already and as a trade asset it's like hitting the jackpot. He's going to end up in the ROY conversation by the end of the year if the Rockets keep feeding him
Really tough break for JHS. Not only being drafted by us and our expectations but also having the 3 guys taken behind you all playing well. Still hoping he ends up being a solid player.
Agreed. I think the emotion in the fanbase is kinda conflating a few things. Yes it’s super frustrating that there are other rookies in that draft range that are doing great and providing immediate production. Yes it feels like it was a bad organizational decision to use a high value asset on a project. But I don’t think that should say anything against JHS. This roster wasn’t really constructed in mind with him having the opportunity or need to produce. He was going to have to play out of his mind early to earn a shot to crack the rotation, and unfortunately he’s mostly been hurt. And I don’t think that necessarily means he should be seen as a negative or neutral asset. I could see a scenario where he cracks the rotation and finds a role next year. I hope we don’t sell TOO low on him in a desperate plea to pad a trade package that doesn’t move the needle. He may have more value to us as an ongoing developmental prospect than a trade chip.
Cooked soft and mushy and stinky, and asparagus the same way, like my mother used to cook that stuff …..
