most important stat for me with jhs right now is minutes. as he said, he's behind in terms of getting reps for a young player. btw, i was thinking today about jalen johnson in atlanta, and what would have been said about him after his first, and even his second year. not everybody is a finished product when they get drafted.
Mays beat him out 31 to 29. I still don't understand why we sent Mays down there. He looks like a polished under control 3rd string PG. I don't think there's value for him to gain by those reps and overstepping JHS getting reps as the primary ball handler. I don't think Mays is part of our long term future (not against locking him up as a 3rd string PG safety blanket), but JHS allegedly is unless we move him.
Yeah makes 0 sense. He even played quite a bit in Atlanta covering for Trae. It's not like he's been ramping up. Just 0 sense
it's taken me a while to realize why his shot looks so funky to me: it's the guide hand bending back on release--makes it look like he's shooting with two hands--but he's not.
lol, the finger pointing is at an all-time high. just fire the dude. you know what helped whitmore--his team let him get reps in the g-league early in the season while you were running jhs at sg against 2-3 zones when his weakness is shooting.
the FO really screwed up this pick didn't they? I mean it's too early to say JHS will be a bust, but considering where we are, it's obvious we should have gotten someone more NBA ready.
Cam looks good, but to your point: JHS is now stringing together some good ball down in the G League. Last game had 20 pts, 6 assists, and 5 boards on 6/11 and 5/7 from 3. Crazy to think a 19 year old kid could use some reps rather than being tossed into the fire in the wrong role.
I’ll be waiting to finish the game but denial is a river in Egypt. f*** Joey Buss and his idiotic smile during that JHS pick
our draft team has an amazing record Whitmore had red flags on his medical - sometimes it's better to be safe than sorry. -- Greg Oden (probably)
Lakers are a representation type of an organization, we need to collect each of everyone, we had JHS to please the vegans. Ham to please the mentally insane sector
Who knows how this will end up but bonkers they passed on Whitmore. The combination of a nice jumpshot with that size and ridiculous a** athleticism is so rare
It was mind boggling draft day decision Jebuz. what they needed: shooting and athleticism what they got: vegan and good interview dumb s***
it's bonkers they kept the pick in the first place when we are in win-now mode + last year or two of Lebron, PLUS drafted a kid who is nowhere near NBA ready and NOW we are already shopping him on trade deals, and he is nowhere near worth the pick that we used to get him. just bad decision-making all around.
