Max Struss is doing well with Clev, just blows that both of these former Mia pg has some crazy injury that has derail their career (Nunn) and now with Gabe
https://hashtagbasketball.com/nba-rookie-rankings JHS is improving. He’s ranked number 52 among rookies which totals about 69.
right along with three guys drafted ahead of him! you can't do anything with stats from 4 games played like most of the bad ones have on here.
He has some physical tools for sure. I don't like his feel for the game but it may be only jitters. Be patient with him, in a couple years we will have an idea of what his worth. He's clearly not ready for immediate impact but has some tools for the future for sure
As was being discussed in game time chat, he needs to be playing every game in the G-League right now. He’s not ready for the big league, and he’s going to lose confidence if he struggles. The G-League is for exactly this type of situation, young player that needs to get comfortable and workin on their game under not so bright lights. I don’t see it with JHS at all so far, but I’m still rooting for him, gotta handle rookies right.
agree with weezy, he needs to be in the g league. the problem is that with vincent dying and reaves struggling to play actual pg (and the next option being christie), i wonder if ham feels like he may actually need him in games and wants to get him reps now. i mean, what if dlo goes down on top of vincent? lebron at pg?
Honestly, I would rather just bring up Hodge with the parent squad. Wondering if his skillet can translate. JHS needs time.
All I can remember is that the FO said he had a good interview and he is disciplined in his diet, no actual basketball or athletic skills were prominently discussed, but that he is insurance if AR bolts. I mean can he even break down NBA defenders? THT showed he could as a 19 year old.
hodge didn't look ready at all in the preseason, and he's even less of a pg than everyone already named.
that's because hodge isn't a pg? Lol. Ideally, he's a poorer mans version of a kcp, imo. that said, I'd rather see what he looks like in real games at the beginning of the season, but in all likelihood, we won't see that at all. we're just buying time until Vincent comes back.
That wasn't very re-assuring sigh. Basically comes down to we think he's a nice young man and nothing about his basketball upside. Wish we had Whitmore - at least I would be looking forward to him trying to dunk on someone
He definitely needs reps in the g-league but I think it's way too premature to say he won't make it as an NBA player. As far as his atheliticism is concerned, he's not less athletic than DeAngelo Russel, who's one step ahead of Mike Penberthy in the athleticism department himself. JHS will have a high hill to climb but we won't know what we have until next year.
Did you see Cam Whitmore put up that huge stat line and dominate? What you say? He only played in the final minute and scored zero points? Oh, right.
