i think whitmore will be fine (and probably better than JHS), but i don't think passing on him will be something we talk about for a decade or something. if anything, it will probably be some other random player none of us expects that outperforms our pick and many others.
i love that shooting drill, btw. it was always a great way to get my form right; did it before every game, always do it now if i'm shooting around after not having done so. /oldguy
I feel for JHS - not able to play for G-league team or us right now. In other good news - Cam Whitmore has not done anything of note yet. Mostly because Houston is dumb and playing their vets over young guys right now. And they're still losing so it's a double whammy for them
houston's pick is top-4 protected, then turns into a second...man...that's a tough spot to be in given their roster, right? i think you just have to try to win, which is why you pay brooks and fvv and bring in landale and jeff green. so you have to play them. at forward, you've got jabari smith and tari eason, who have both showed promise, imo. then you've got brooks on a big contract (and he's going to cause problems if he sits). so the forward minutes are gone (and whitmore's a 3, not a 2, imo). then you've got jalen green having to play a bunch of minutes at the 2, so there's not much for whitmore, even if he's playing well. anyhoo....whitmore would also be sitting here, next to jhs. again, talk to me in two years.
