I wasn't familiar with this guy but after checking out his passing I'm good with the pick. He might be just what we need to unlock AD. Shooting he can develop. He has the other things we need. Surprisingly nice pick for me.

6-11 wingspan on defense, has hands like Rick Fox, kid can strip the ball. He will be a solid 2 way player, he's only 19. He can be someone that that can switch on defense with his size and wingspan off pick and rolls.

And that’s not just lip service because we drafted him. Here he is announcing his college decision on Mamba Day, wearing a Kobe jersey in the promo videos

Why he wear a green suit today then?

In all seriousness, I'm not surprised by the choice and he seems to have a good skill set to build up. Given that he worked out for us, he must've done something special to entice our scouting team. His midrange game/shot looks solid as well as some of the plays he makes, let's hope we can make his 3 pt shooting better.

These are always cool vids, seeing the call

Could've gone all summer without seeing Rambis though.

I like this kid already! Good find. After these years I really trust our scouting department.

Exactly what I was thinking. He looks a little stronger, but the handles and heads up dribbling are there

What’s not to like? Runs the PnR very well, has a NBA ready body, and already can play D.
Our Scouting Department is excellent- I trust them completely.

i did limited pre-draft research because he was consistently mocked ahead of our pick, and i wasn't impressed in part because i didn't realize he was a) as big as he is and b) known as a defender. those things change my mind a lot, actually. he already has the physical strength to get on the court. he has good vision, pretty strong handle and finish to either side, and he's actually huge as a pg. high hoop iq is also catnip for me.

i believe he can become a better shooter and think it's one of the easier (not easy, but easier) things to do. he's a 78% ft shooter and his mechanics look ok.

the guy i really wanted to fall was cason wallace, and i think hood schifino is similar (not quite the athlete, but bigger, not the the shooter).

my preference would maybe still have been to trade down to bkn and take exactly who they did (clowney and whitehead), but maybe that wasn't possible.

anyway, i'm getting sold. i can see this being another good one.

Yeah the 2 things that jumped out to me watching the highlights were his NBA ready body and his off hand. The handles, one-handed passes off the bounce, and finishing. There’s a lot to like.

Can’t speak for others, but I don’t watch college basketball. The guys I wanted were strictly from where they were mocked (I.e. Whitmore) or seeing what other wrote here. It’s easy to get worked up when the FO goes a different route, but they’ve proven to earn the benefit of the doubt. Someone like Whitmore may have a higher ceiling, but definitely a lower floor. I’m sold on this pick.

At least a few of the Twitter guys think he's right there with Wallace defensively.
