Better outing for him. Helps the guys are starting to get a little chemistry and had a practice yesterday. Steady game. Liked the shot diet today.

He’s getting settled in and it shows. I like this kid. Work on the shot this year and he’ll be a nice backup PG after that.

If can shoot like that: watch out. He's got that Jeff Green/Aaron Gordon explosion near the basket - he'll be a star

interestingly, green and gordon were high picks in the range whitmore was supposed to go.

but both proved to be hard-workers (which was a whitmore concern), and both were about 3 inches taller, i think. whitmore the better shooter by far, though. all comes down to want-to with him. the nba, almost as a whole, bet against his work ethic/personality. we'll see if they were wrong.

Poor man's Anthony Edwards maybe a better comparison? Same kind of body build and explosion. Ant is ridiculously explosive off of either one foot or two feet while Whitemore appears to be more two leg guy. Still drafting at 17, I would have rolled the dice on that talent.

There was an interesting comp made on the Locked On pod yesterday (I think) that the Kam bros discussed as a high end ceiling that a fan brought to their attention on their YouTube page.

Andre Miller. In terms of being very effective but with minimal flash. Neither are speedsters, instead are controlled and very deliberate with their movements. Ways they score aren't too dissimilar either.

Not a good shooting night overall, 7-20, but he’s showing potential

very fortunate if he can be anywhere near an Andre Miller type. A very productive and competent pro

Saw a lot of Twitter hating on his performance yesterday, but I thought that was one of his better outings

Yeah he started pushing too much in the 4th, but it was getting to the point where nobody else was stepping up and we needed to cut into the deficit quick.

Plus, a lot of his fourth quarter misses were very makeable, just got tapped on some open looks and layups that it feels like he normally makes. I was more impressed by his ability to get those field goal attempts than I was disappointed by his inability to convert them

Also had a big 3 taken away due to an inconsequential offensive foul

Yeah I thought he looked good too. Solid except making more of the shots. But wow hadn’t he moved all the way up to 17 after the second game in LV? They really dinged him down to 41 after the Boston game. I like him a lot. He’s so young to have that body already and is going to be stud physically as he matures.

20 shots is too much from the PG

    --Kobe (probably)

I know you are joking, but I hate that we assign a number.

Were they good shots? Relative to other available options (Kobe over Smush)?

If AR is left open I want him to take 30 shots.

I love the idea of a balanced attack unless you have a completely dominant offensive player(Like Kobe or Shaq). I don’t think that’s who we are describing, so I look at 20 shots as maybe being a little bit better distributed.

I don’t see a world in which he will ever shoot that many times in the pros Unless he just gets on fire one night and they feed him the rock. If we are comparing him to Andre Miller, I’m pretty sure he peeled off a couple of 50 point games during his career, so you never know.

Balanced attack is b******* IMO. you get what the defense gives you.

SA is the poster child for it and they fed Timmah just fine, if that was the D.

If Rui is defended by, like, Curry, I want him to take ALL THE SHOTS until the other team changes the coverage or is blown out.

Sure but having a true balanced attack is what will enable something like this. Without a balanced attack, teams can load up on your offensive weapons and force the other guys to beat you, which in an unbalanced attack, they will be unable to do that.

To me, a balanced attack just means that all five positions can hurt you on offense at any time. You throw doubles on someone, you're gonna get burned. Force everyone into a 1 on 1 and then beat them.
