Dwight Howard is extremely unhappy in Houston playing second fiddle to alpha dog James Harden, multiple league sources tell SheridanHoops.com. And with the Rockets underachieving more than any NBA team, look for them to try to move Howard later this season.

And the destination that makes the most sense is Miami in a trade centered around Hassan Whiteside.

[IMG]It makes so much sense, in fact, that I will go so far as to predict that Howard will be wearing a Miami Heat uniform by the end of February.
This prediction is based upon the fact that the Heat, as colleague Michael Scotto is reporting today, are trying to get the Sacramento Kings to part with DeMarcus Cousins, offering a package of Whiteside, rookie Justise Winslow and cap filler to make the salaries match. Chicago and Boston also are actively making offers for Cousins.

Except Cousins is a young kid in his prime even if he is a knucklehead. Howard is 30 years old and in clear decline. Why would Miami want him? Not to mention this'll be the 3rd team he's turned on.

    But besides all that... :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

What a f***ing CLOWN this guy is. He still think he's first chair in ANY orchestra? The only team I could see him being first option on is Philly and they've already got a better post player in Okafor. :D :D :D :D :D

Surprise surprise Dwight is unhappy again. The guy hasn't improved his game at all since being shut down in the 2009 Finals. You knew it was only a matter of time before he wanted out of Houston. At this point Whiteside is a better player so it would make no sense for Miami. Interesting Sheridan makes it sound like Hassian is a goner. Have to believe the Lakers would have as good a chance as anybody to sign him considering the enormous amount of cap room we'll have as well as him being a perfect fit for this young core.

Well the flip side is it sounds like Miami can offer him the max if they renounce their rights to Wade. Question is would they do that to the best player in franchise history?

Where's Sirron with the Dwight/Clown picture....

Wherever he goes now, "the Champion" will always be second fiddle. He isn't good enough to carry a team anymore.

dude is completely delusional, but we've already known that for a couple of years. It's a shame Marbury isn't playing anymore, they would fit perfectly

It's not really logic though. There has to be better deals out there for Whiteside than an aging, grumpy has-been like Howard.

I think I'd rather lose Whiteside for nothing than have to deal with Dwight and his antics. You try and do everything you can to re-sign him. If not let Wade walk and rebuild.

He's hasn't played great lately. I also heard he's bee pouting and showing some of that bad attitude he's displayed in the past; I've advocated going after him in the offseason, but if his behavior doesn't or hasn't changed, I don't want that type of influence around our young team.

But if you're Miami aren't you just replacing Whiteside with an older, equally annoying player that is more injury prone and distracting?

Sure, but one thing Dwight has been and has shown is more productivity (health aside) when he's on the floor over the last 2-3 seasons. The alternative for Riley is losing Whiteside for nothing; because outside of Cousins (Sacto) isn't trading, who else is on the market that you trade Whiteside for? Not saying it does happen, but I can see Whiteside being moved somewhere...

Better to trade him for anything, than be left with nothing. Cough, Pau, cough...

Interesting. I thought his (Whiteside) gripes lately were frustration from being benched late in games but I don't follow the Heat much. Definitely don't want a malcontent ruining the chemistry between our young guys.

I'd imagine there's better, more progressive deals that could be made than simply swapping a young Dwight for an old Dwight. Doesn't make a ton of sense to me. Last year Dwight played only 41 games and put up only 15/10 with less than 2 blocks. I'm sure there's other options you could go for with Whiteside than an older, more injury prone Whiteside. :D

I do think Whiteside is a candidate to be moved though. I agree with that.

Played 41 games while being the starting Center for a team that went to the Western Conference Finals. Could the deals get better when the trading deadline approaches? Sure, but I don't think they will. I'm not delving into stats. Riley would make the move and not look back, IMO.
