He's always been very supportive of Kobe, my hate was mainly for the media. They would put him on a pedestal while tearing Kobe down for similar things like showboating, arrogance, stat padding etc... But I never hated him as a athlete. Still don't think his game mirrors Jordans, but he's an amazing player, always thought he was.
Don't mean to sound rude, but good for you I guess. As amazing as he has been, and as great as he still is, I will probably forever despise everything crab-related. I don't hate him. In order to hate someone you have to have some respect for that peron. I hated KG, Pierce, Webber, Malone back in the day, and all of "earned" my fan-hate. LeBron for me is just an insanely basketball-wise gifted celebrity. All the flopping, check my stats, crab dribble, the decision, never taking any responsibility for any loss, confiscating videos of some young dude dunking on him (WTF?) etc., give me a break
I don't hate him, never have. I reserve hate for current and former members of the evil empire, and other villains like the bad boy pistons and other rivals over the years (queens, spurs, jazz, etc). The media orgy around Lebron is a little much though.
Sorry about the way this thread turned out @Jazzygirl205 lol I don't hate him. I don't like him at all though. He's a marketing machine that masquerades as whatever his PR team thinks will sell tickets. He is far too obsessed with what people think about him. I will never take away from him that he's a tremendous talent though. At this point it's clear he's not Jordan and he's not Kobe, but he's a great, great player in his own way. I'll always say he makes the greatest #2 on any Championship team. He's got all the natural talent in the world, he works hard at his craft, but he's just not a killer. He's too nice for that. He's too worried about the bad press if he misses the shot or turns the ball over or gets scored on. He's more Magic than Kobe or Jordan, but even Magic embraced the last shot when he had to. I don't hate him at all, I just don't respect him as a person.
@therealdeal I expected it to turn out like this lol. I do think LeBron's motive is very self indulged, I do think he stat pads to make himself look and to continue to be compared to Jordan when I myself like I said don't see any similarities in his game other than his fg%, but a good portion of the NBA has solid or high fg%. I didn't like him in the past at all because I thought he had some bitter gripe with Kobe like "jawls" does but I never seen him put down Kobe or not compliment him as a player or his success. I don't know if it's fake or not to add on to his PR team trying to make him seem like some stand-up golden boy like they used to do Micheal Jordan, but as long as Kobe gets respect I'm good. I like any player who compliments Kobe because the media rips him a new one every other day. I know you all are skeptical of LeBron I didn't expect people to go easy on me in here lol.
He's always been very complimentary of Kobe, that's true. Just from what we can see on camera I feel like LeBron wishes he had Kobe's killer instinct and respects him as a professional and a basketball player. Not to mention Kobe and LeBron are both very much about the money. They're about other things too, but money is right up there on that list.
I don't hate LeBron either. I think his respect for Kobe is at least genuine, and his work ethic is touted as one of the best (even by Kobe, although obviously not on his level).
I don't have any problem with Lebron. I guess one has to know what it's like trying to build/manage an image when you're a superstar to criticize someone in his position. All indications are that he's got a sincere social conscience. He's actually used his influence to create a lot of opportunities for people to be successful who ordinarily wouldn't have much of a shot. He's said really stupid s*** and looked foolish for it, acknowledged it, and moved on. Lot's of athletes I happen to like have gotten into/done/allegedly done some unsavoury things. This guy's actually a good dude. I'm no hater of Bron. Building your brand ain't easy.
I've never hated LeBron. I really hated "the decision", mostly because I thought it was a cowardly move that, at least for me, kind of tarnished what he could have become. he does odious athlete things, but if that's going to be your bar for hatred, then the list of folks you like is going to be really short (dirk nowitzki? shane battier? grant hill?). I just can't get over those clowns joining up instead of competing. especially bron/wade. the irony is that wade's the one who probably comes out looking a lot better than he is/was from all of it. and I really dislike that guy.
What the hell happened to Manny in your AVI? Is Money finally going to fight him in 2015? (5 years too late but I'd still pay the big closed circuit fee to see it)
i grew up a Pernell nuthugger so i thought i'd show my appreciation lol as for the Manny-Floyd fight, i can only hope..they're setting themselves up for ppv flops if they have different opponents
Leonard/Hagler came too late but was still quite a show. I hate to pay for a fight years late in the making but I suspect it'll be a good one.
