We riot if this happens. That’s an unacceptable and lazy hiring. Nobody is impressed by the “names” anymore, why is this so hard for the front office to see this?

I’m going to choose to believe Woj is just screwing with us like he has all season, trolling fans and the team because he doesn’t have any actual Lakers sources. I choose to believe this because living in denial is the only way I can currently function as a Lakers fan.

Meh. I don't really buy it. We're at full silly season with the coaching rumors and Kidd's people could be floating this to help with his negotiations with a college team.

Easy one - Luke was chosen by the previous management, that makes him worse than any other coach by default.

Kidd led the Bucks to 8 seed and then they fired him...and they're now the #1 seed without any major improvements to the roster...

    HARD PASS.

i'm not buying this from woj. as bad as our FO has been i really don't think they're "seriously" considering hiring kidd right now before the offseason even begins

but lets just say that they actually do hire him. i can safely say i'll be done being a fan

i mean, for woj not to be lying, he simply had to have spoken to someone affiliated with the league who thought the lakers would consider kidd. i mean, that's totally possible without there being a grain of truth to the actual story (lakers interested in kidd as coach).

historically, woj's credibility would lead one to assume these were well-placed sources (like, within the lakers organization), but his track record of late casts some serious doubt on that.

at worst, he's trolling on purpose. at best, he's reporting info from kidd's agent or some d****** connected to the nba in some tangential way (e.g., reggie miller). probably somewhere in between: woj got the info, knew it was dubious, but thought it would make the lakers look stupid, so he amplified it.

wish the organization had more friends in the media.

I mean, I have no clue what they will do but I do think that

    a) the Lakers front office knows that they need to make a good hire that will start restoring confidence in them
    b) people know that mentioning the Lakers helps them in negotiations
    c) journalists and websites know mentioning the Lakers equals click and views

So, I have just accepted that we're going to constantly be hearing names for the coaching vacancy leaked by various sources and a lot of it will be BS.

It was just a question or theory sirron would have mentioned. Miss his "whackness".

    “Lakers won’t consider Jason Kidd”

    Whew!

“Lakes do believe Ty Lue deserves strong consideration”.

    :Kobe Speechless:

Let’s not hire the one guy who made Giannis look mediocre, sure. Let’s go hire the guy who appeases LeBron, but whose offense is give the ball to LeBron and let him do things with it, and who had a friggin nervous breakdown in his last year around LeBron. Let’s put that guy around the LA media, fans and spotlight, I bet that will lessen his anxiety.

No worries this is what you do with the greatest of all times .... all times. Just give him the ball and get out of his way. We should strongly consider officially making him our coach since he actually is. Great PR angle. First player / coach since forever.

Hmmm ..... might be one problem though. He would have to actually be in the huddles with the other players whether he wanted to or not if he was the coach. Meh, maybe the King would prefer the phony coach scenario where he can tune out as he pleases.
