    Look at the bright side guys, with Kidd here to mentor Lonzo, it kind of eliminates the need for Rondo to be here to mentor Lonzo as well.

    He’s also praised Lonzo and said that triple doubles will be the norm for him and that people need to be patient with him and allow him time to develop.

    There's a lot at play with this hire, but here's some bullet points.

    -Primary goal was to get top 2 choices of Vogel/Kidd on the same team. Jeanie has been consulting Phil who suggested the approach.

    -Lakers would have offered a 5 year deal as they thing they're getting a 2 for 1 steal. But for optics reasons stuck with the 3 year. They're happier with this than Lue/Vogel.

    -Kurt's plan backfired as he wanted Hollins, but his strong push for Kidd earlier combined with Phil's support worked against him. Look for Kurt to try to increase his front office influence. If that doesn't work, he will end up on the staff as an assistant, almost certainly.

    -Another big thing here is about control. Lakers front office can dictate what Vogel's staff looks like and he is in their pocket more than someone like Lue would have been. Power is being consolidated inward among a few individuals in the Lakers front office. They are not keen on looking for outside help right now.

    I'll keep you posted as I hear more.

    How'd you like to be suspicious of your #2 from day 1? Sounds like a horrible approach.

    And if we was a good defensive coach, but bad on offense, what is different about having Luke Walton? Minus the potential back stabbing just waiting to occur?

    Hard to see this all ending well. I don't think Jason is known as a great X and O's coach. He needed to fake dropping water on the court so he had extra time to draw up a play.

    I'm full of Meh right now. and just about any white head coach would be completely s*** on by Lebron James anyways. I'm sure Lebron was not consulted on this at all, so there's that.

    Vogel with his staff I would have taken a lot better, he’s an average coach, like literally coaching record-wise, and in every sense. It’s the Kidd addition that has me steamed. Could have had Lue with Vogel, and we got Vogel with Kidd, it pisses me off. And yes, to what you said, supposedly LeBron likes and respects Kidd, and doesn’t think highly of Vogel, so the Lakers have UNNECESSARILY set them up for a repeat of that Cleveland mess, for drama we don’t need, from the jump here. If LeBron is unhappy he’ll start to buddy up to Kidd or Kidd will already have started doing that, and Vogel will be out in a season. I can’t say enough times what a joke this is. And as usual Anthony Irwin sums it up for me

    6. So who will be available in 3 years?
