    When is that dim bat going to hire Jerry West? Because I wouldn't trust the current Laker regime to organize my tool drawer let alone pick coaches. And my tool drawer is already organized.

    Would be nice, no doubt, but I don't see Thibs going back to being an assistant coach. Too big of an ego. Vogel could be an excellent fit and seems more likely.

    Thibs failure at Minn doesn't give him much say in regards to his next job offers IMO, he was never cut out for a HC, Chi had 1 or 2 good yrs because he played all his good players into the ground

    I think it depends on what the market suggests. I think it would be toward the end of the off season, if it were to happen, if he didn't get any nibbles as a head coach. A prove yourself contract as assistant head coach with a bloated 1 year salary might put him in prime position to return to the HC seat somewhere next year.

    Also depends on how much Lue and Bron really want him and how big of a gap they see between him and Vogel. That will dictate our interest and salary.

    Didn't they learn with forcing Mag and Rob to coexist?

    We need one bball ops guy/gal to make all the hires. Forcing pieces will just have his/her people go against their people and then things get leaky AF again.

    But this just could be (and I'm hoping it is) negotiations towards the terms of the contract.
