Clearly the Lakers think you have to be a former player to actually be good at anything in the NBA. We don’t hire anyone that didn’t at least play college basketball.

Jeanie (probably): "We fell like Lue understands what it means to be a Laker since he played here."

Man, if that (bleep) said something like that, I seriously would not know what to do. I have already missed more games this year than the previous 19 years combined.

Honestly, I don't care who the coach is. Any one of the recently three mentioned will be fine. But Rob Pelinka heading up the search means we will still be left with no GMs to talk to us. It's not like players don't read about this stuff. Kawhi, Klay, Kyrie, Kemba...they all read these stories about everyone hating Pelinka and how it the other GMs around the league won't work with us. Why would any free agent in their right mind come to a team that has a snake for a GM and an aging Lebron wielding too much power? All we can hope is that Kawhi won't care due to his Kawhiness. Because if our starting five is McGee/Lebron/Ingram/Kawhi/Ball with Kuz and Hart off the bench, it doesn't really matter who our coach is or who our GM is. That's just too much talent to not win.

I wonder if Juwan Howard has the best chance of landing the Lakers' head coaching job since Rob & Juwan were Fab 5 teammates.

Lakers need someone tested. With experience. If those aren't requirements, then why fire luke? They should get a president asap, before the coach

Positive so far is they didn't make an impulse hire like that jackhole before. They are actually interviewing and seeing what's what. Interesting though that the only 3 right now named are black coaches. Looks like Lebron is still controlling the hiring process. I'm starting to get curious on if the Lakers will actually hire a Operational guy.

I guess I didn’t even notice that the 3 named coaches are black. But, if you’re intimating that LeBron is behind that I would say that I highly doubt it. If Popovich was available he would be top of the list. I just think it’s a tough market right now for candidates and these guys are the best available.

The Lakers really need to focus on hiring a president first before a coach in my opinion.

He wasn't fond of Spoelstra with the defiant shoulder bumping crap except Riley told him to stuff it. And shipped David Blatt's a** out who was an internationally respected coach.

    Per Woj:

Further explains why Juwan Howard is linked to us. Plus I'm not entirely sure, but I think Rob/Landmark agency use to represent him as a player.

I'm wondering if the Cavs are really interested in meeting with him or J-Ho's camp leaked that to possibly rush us into a decision. Taking advantage of an inexperienced and partially staffed front office. Unlikely cause they were teammates, but can't lie that was my first thought when reading of the Cavs interest.

I like the thought of someone bigger than LeBron coaching him who can slap him upside the head every time he should just be slapped upside his head.

Man, just got done listening to this wonderful interview; if he isn't the next head coach for the Los Angeles Lakers, I'm going to be disappointed.

The reason why Lebron likes Pop is because Pop is on record saying that black people get a crappy deal in society.

He loathes Phil Jackson because Phil has said things like "Prison Garb" in describing players dress wear before David Stern implemented the dress code. Also, Phil called his crew a "Posse" which according to Lebron had racial connotations to it.

My conclusion on this so this doesnt start veering over to the political side of things is if the Lakers are indeed picking coaches for Lebron, Lakers will continue to be the Knicks of the west and continue to fail in massive fashion. If Lebron continues to disrespect coaches and players on his team, he will crash and burn and retire with 3 titles and be the modern day Wilt Chamberlain. Basically that means he won but should have won more and his stats is all he has.
