Nuggets are the better team, but I think ham made some terrible decisions this series, Lakers could had won 1 or 2 games.

Ham was okay the first round. A lot better the second round and at times outcoached Kerr. And against Denver we were quickly reminded he’s a rookie coach.

I think we’ll be fine with him going forward. He’ll get a full/better team with a training camp under them. His adjustments are sometimes late but at least he sees the right adjustments and make them.

It will be very hard for him to stay longer than next year. Anything else than WCF will be hard to justify.

I think it can be a great season for him though. Last preseason was a mess, bad roster and being forced to trying to fit Russ while managing his market value. It will be a world of difference to start next year with a set roster, clear roles and time to apply his basketball strategy. Barring injuries and a roster overhaul, considering we had one of the best records post trade deadline, top 4 is the expectation, peaking the #1 seed

Mr Team Health obviously could have a big say in Ham staying even if we don’t reach WCF …. as always.

He definitely showed improvement in the playoffs, until we played Denver. I still think he uses the three guard lineups way too much for my liking. He will get at least two more seasons to show further improvement.

Overall yeah he was too much in love with small ball lineups even when we had the players to play big from February to the end of May ( whether it was the 3 guards lineup or not playing Gabriel and TT as a backup 5).

Something definetely to improve on going forward .

    In this series :

    Lineups :

    - The 3 guards lineup in Game 1 basically cost us the game , we got killed on the glass and it was too much of a deficit to overcome

    - DS and Rui starting already should have happened in Game 3

    Tactics :

    - Doubling Jokic was a huge mistake , especially we did this in the 1st quarter of Game 1 .

Jokic actually shot below 50 percent in 3 or the 4 games and scored below 25 twice .

What killed us is doubling one pass away off KCP and Porter ( would like to know both players 3pts percentage on these shots).

Strategy should have been to purely make Jokic a scorer and stay home on others

Offensively : -We went away from the post in 4th quarters

The reason we lost this series is because Murray went supernova twice. Q4 of game 2 and first half of game 3.

We can point to game 1 and the small ball lineup that Ham stuffed up, but he also made in game adjustments that got us back into it. We just ran out of gas, but if the game was 5 mins longer we take it.

Game 4 there was a single possession of difference.

At the very least I feel like Ham played Malone even over the series. We just didn’t have an explosive scorer like Murray to win us 2 games.

Agreed. We also beat the 2 seed in Memphis, and the defending champs GS to make it to the WCF. That’s overachieving. He gets kudos from me for getting us that far. And as you mentioned we were in all the games with Denver with a chance to win them.

Honestly this team looked gassed at the end of the season but he lit a fire under them and had them competing and believing they could go all the way. That was impressive.

Coach Ham, please remember Austin needs to play in the mid thirties in minutes and when he is in the game he runs the offense. If we can just do that we will be much improved.
