Sometimes the only way to get paid more is to leave or threaten to leave. Crappy that it works that way, but it’s reality. It’s where loyalty can truly cost you.
West could have been like Magic and make a documentary if he wants to counter the fictionalized narrative
This was a very entertaining episode. It shows the transition to the Laker dynasty starting to build in the 79/80 season. The only gripe I have is seeing Cookie in every effen episode with the same plot of Magic womanizing and Cookie being suspicious and not trusting him. Yes, we all know Magic was a poon hound as with most NBA players in the league. I like though it hit more gripping story lines in this episode. Bird looks like he is going to explode with the intensity on his face lol.
I love Jerry West's Yoda transformation here lol with all the Star Wars reference early in the episode. The Wilt-Russell dinner story we all know but coming from Jerry hits clearer, glad Pau rejected KG stupid attempt lmao.
Poor choice of words of Kareem saying this show is boring, it isn't boring, it's pretty wild, unpredictable
It’s wild how many great talents we had running this team over the 80’s, 90’s and 00’s. Jerry West, Phil Jackson and Pat Riley. Man wouldn’t it be nice to have someone of their caliber now sailing the ship.
Let it go Jerry. You are only proving that the story is accurate. Geez. I like you more if you were like this. You care about winning that much. It admirable.

This would be an utterly frivolous lawsuit, and it would be DOA. Not only would HBO respond with an anti-SLAPP motion, and not only would they CERTAINLY prevail, but that would entitle HBO to staggering attorneys fees. And there is zero chance that SCOTUS would grant cert and take up the case. And no doubt Jerry's lawyer knows all this, but he's (the lawyer) a known jerk and a bully and doing this entirely for the free publicity it brings.
The bar for winning a defamation case is incredibly high for public figures, I would be surprised if this goes anywhere. Basically he needs to somehow prove actual malice on the part of HBO.
HBO don't care how Jerry feels they just told that old man to sit down and relax, he's not even painted in a bad light on the show just extra emotional, but he's proving their point with all this ima take it to the Supreme Court talk
