That 2nd unit could be fun if everyone's stepping their game up shooting this year. Except Caruso trying to stay at 80 % of what he was to be great. For fun, let's say Handy works his star whisperer magic with Kostas, who is along physically ENOUGH to make an impact this year ..... like Phil did last year in Toronto with their young talent. Then insert Kostas in place of Dudley when matchups permit. A new, much fun Bench Mob Rotation when Kuz is Back.
I’m choosing to believe Rondo will be better this year. It’s the only way I won’t get sick even thinking about it.
I think he will if for no other reason these guys around him this year won't suffer all the lazy stupid turnovers. Just taking care of the ball better and shooting better and having chemistry with AD, he has to be better.
Yes. And it was the thing that pissed us off the most. Stupid s*** and mustard off the hot dog turnovers. And it was my first sentence above. "I think he will if for no other reason these guys around him this year won't suffer all the lazy stupid turnovers."
If Dwight is healthy, he actually makes more sense as the starter since he’s accustomed to the minutes. I’m curious how this ends up playing out
If he’s smart, he can realize that at any moment Dwight could visit Hollywood Boulevard and tear a butt muscle.
I agree with bringing back Rondo, he is a liaison for the coaches to the players, he was getting on AD and others for being late on the first day of camp and I think a lot of coaches are afraid to do that. He can play bad cop for them and he's a min contract. The thing I don't agree with is him playing with with LBJ's unit especially when there's no defense either. We will already have LBJ slaggin' off during the regular season on D Question for anyone who watched Rondo in the playoffs with New Orleans because I caught parts of games and don't remember but anyways: How was Rondo's defense in the playoffs vs Portland and GSW? I know his stats were impressive including over 10/8/12 avg in 9 playoff games + 2 blk avg vs GSW but I don't know how his overall D was. Seems like so far Avery is the most solid choice for an LBJ squad, Vogel considers him more of combo guard/wing which off-ball-wise fits better with LBJ taking up so much of the distribution and ball handling. Especially with people saying he's looking like old Avery on D. We need that for the top PG's in this league. And if Caruso is getting after it on D as well, throw both of those guys @ the leagues best PG's (and SG's in Caruso's case) keep Rajon with the bench unit where he can play with Cook, Kuz (most likely to see Kuz on the bench for a while unless he recovers fast) Dwight and KCP. That's a bada** bench.
Bradley, Green, Lebron, AD, McGee Rondo, Cook, KCP, Kuz, Howard Dudley instead of Kuz and that bench is iffy to me. Iggy here would be a blessing if he's available at all. Ideally Caruso instead of Rondo but we're a little over abundant with guards, up to Vogel to find the perfect combination. Bradley and Caruso might be our best guards.
We have 5 guards who are either pgs or tiny like pgs: Rondo, Cook, Caruso, Bradley, Daniels As well as Danny Green and KCP. Some extra length would be nice
it's worked well for the orlando magic. i'm half-kidding, but i think the obsession with length has gotten out of hand. i feel like the last few years have spoken pretty strongly in favor of employing smart, skilled, hard-working players, even if they aren't physical specimens. we're in a league where joe ingles makes a lot of money now.
Green, KCP and maybe Bradley can play the 3. Undersized a bit but I think they would be capable. Caruso is actually very well sized, insert @RonStu joke here. Rondo, Cook and Caruso can play the 1. Cook, Caruso, Daniels can play the 2.
