^^^ I use the Vita for mostly the same thing. The only thing that sucks is some PS1 games I love aren't playable on Vita that are playable on PSP. It does have some pretty good exclusives though, Uncharted Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, Wipeout 2048, Killzone Mercenary, Hot Shots Golf World Invitational, and Tearaway are all games I'd recommend. I also like having the Jak and Daxter and Sly Cooper collections portable.
Just finished Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition on the PS4. It's a 3rd person open world sandbox similar to GTA that takes place in Hong Kong. Really fun time, great story and great fighting mechanics. Driving is a bit iffy but the world is gorgeous, gun play could have been better but it wasn't a big focus. I had a better time playing this than GTAV.
Hey Alam, I enjoyed the original Sleeping Dogs on ps3. Is this a continuation of the original or is is just repackaged for ps4?
Its a repackaged Sleeping Dogs for the PS4. Its the main game but graphics are upgraded a little and includes all the DLC. Sidenote: There was a continuation game in development but it was so different from this one that testers did not like it at all so they stopped development. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triad_Wars
Yep, I paid $10 for it during a sale and I would happily pay more for it. The emphasis on hand to hand combat was great. I do hope they make a second one but Square Enix don't like making sequels if the first doesn't sell well. I don't think Sleeping Dogs sold well enough even if its a good game.
Played the new Ratchet and Clank for PS4 last night. Planned on playing for a bit, ended up playing for hours. Gorgeous graphics, really fun and varied gameplay, and even though the story is essentially a remake of the PS2 original, it's been long enough and changed enough to feel fresh, and it's funny as always. I also love the weapons and weapon upgrade system, the Pixelizer is freakin awesome.
Looks like I'm going to E3 again this year. I got a pass last year through work but this year I got invited by Microsoft. I get to go to the Xbox Media Briefing too.
Picked up Ratchet and Clank and the Uncharted Collection. I've played a few Ratchet and Clank games before but never got around to finishing any of them. Never played Uncharted before. I started Uncharted yesterday and now I'm half way through the second game. Not much substance to them, but very fun, quick-paced, and beautiful graphics. So I plan on finishing up the Uncharted collection this weekend in time for Uncharted 4, and then playing through Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted 4 in parallel.
I guess Uncharted is like a movie, in the sense that if the plot doesn't grab you, it doesn't work for you. For me, it doesn't get any better, I can WATCH someone play that game and be entertained. I was watching the like 12 minute gameplay sequence of uncharted 4 with the jeep chase yesterday, and I was on the edge of my seat. It's like playing a really awesome Indiana Jones movie, it's thrilling to me. Not many games appeal to me that way, for me it's become what's the new FPS released today, it's boring. The only FPS series I love is Halo, I can play Halo 1 any time, it never gets old. Ratchet and Clank though, I'm almost done with, it's a blast start to finish. It's supposed to be a remake of the original PS2 game, but I recognized very little, it feels brand new to me.
Yeah, that's definitely a great comparison. Just as a gamer, I had heard so many great things about this series and the studio behind it so at first I kind of expected a bit more. The Last of Us is still in my opinion one of the greatest games ever made. In terms of everything. Gameplay, graphics, storyline. So far, the Uncharted games are like a very simplified version of that. A fun and accessible "Indiana Jones" storyline with a compatible simple gameplay. But once I realized what type of game I was in for, I started enjoying the series much more.
Wanted to pop in and say how pumped I am for the original Modern Warfare remake dropping in November. My favorite shooter ever.
Agreed, the last greatest Call of Duty for me before it went overboard. I'm going to play the crap out of that.
Is it worth 120 bucks tho to just be able to play cod 4 remastered? And I heard it's not even a full game. Like half of the maps are gonna be in Multiplayer. I would buy it tho if it was separately but 120 bucks a bit much as it is and activision already said it will not be sold separately
Best Buy has it for 80. Comes with Infinite Warfare, and the Modern Warfare remake with 10 MP maps and the full campaign.
Picked up uncharted 4. Barely started playing but right off the bat, the games might just challenge number 2 as best in the series. But I'm only about an hour into it. The mechanics are definitely better, more ways to get from one place to another, able to interact with environment depending on where you are. Oh, and in at the beginning when things quiet down a bit, there's a retro PlayStation moment complete with the startup sound and everything. And yes you get to play the game. A stroke of awesomeness imo. Anyway, not even into the meat of the game yet but so far very impressed.
Same here. Only put in about an hour or two into Uncharted 4 after spending a week playing through Uncharted 1-3 for the first time. When playing the remastered versions of the first three games, part of me wondered how the graphics could possibly get better. But very early in this game, there have been a few moments where I was awestruck just staring at the gorgeous graphics. More than that though, so far the story is much more interesting than the first few games.
