Oh, that's not lost on me at all. They are certainly diminished somewhat from last year's lineup. But I just think that we are ourselves are too depleted by injury at the moment to give them the fight we'll be able to later this season. I don't think Houston will win as many games this season as last.
Really? I mean, Nash, Kelly, Xavier out isn't too big of a loss. Ellington is still relatively new. Nick Young certainly is the heart of our bench, but I think we can still manage. I think we can expect Ronnie Price to back from the bone bruise. Opening night lineup of: Lin/Price Kobe/Clarkson Wes/ Boozer/Randle Hill/Davis/Sacre Although Lin should start, I think Price is the better fit with the starters, Lin is much better served off the bench to work with Davis, for more balance. Though, Lin will get a bulk of the minutes at PG. Also, with a back to back I expect Byron to limit Kobe's minutes, and lean on Lin/Price/Wes to play heavy minutes. I wouldn't be surprised to even see Randle at SF some points of the game.
I'm not really excited about this season because there is no way this team is going to be competitive. But we will have to see how they fight for what they get.
Win on a last second Steve Blake shot. Uhhhh, wait... If I had to put my money on it, I'd say it's a loss, but Houston's offense isn't as impressive without Lin and Parsons, so... If Dwight has a bad game and Harden has to guard Kobe, we might be able to get a W.
Lin is gonna start but I like him better off the bench, especially his chemistry with Davis. Price sets the tone defensively with the starters and isn't looked to make plays but needs to make the open jumper. Lin starting does take some relief off Kobe in the offensive end though. Hope Lin has the guts to sometimes take it in himself instead of passing it to Kobe.
Good lord KB24, do you have the flu or something. Did you not see the different team and fight and defense the last 3 games..... last 2 with Kobe out and all 3 with Kelly, Swaggy and X out. Shoot for the moon here..... not rocket science ..... errrr......you know...... just give this team HEALTH, (especially Kobe Bryant) this year. As I keep saying.... no more than anyone out more than minor crap....1-2 week minor basketball injuries...... and I will guarantee we are in the 1st round. It is time to "factor in the mismatch" that is Julius Randle ..... as a first year ROOKIE in the league. With Byron Scott and Kobe Bryant in his ear and head this whole coming season, I believe we have a 1B alpha dog at the "least". 1A I believe is also possible, talking strictly about competitive spirit if he soaks it in. ^^^ This seriously changes the free agent pull starting this summer. Kobe will have no problem, if Randle's head is screwed on right, passing some of the torch on, while his stays LIT. Best I could do..... you sounded really down there ......
I don't have a prediction ... I just hope we compete as hard as we can and nobody gets injured. And if we can somehow kick Dwight's a** I would be very pleased
Close game throughout. 24 keeps the Lakers within striking distance. Hack-A-Howard ensues...Rockets get beat.
Our biggest loss is Young out with the injury. So we're really gonna need Wes to have at least a somewhat decent game, knocking down open shots and playing smart defense. If our bench comes out strong I like our chances.
As a fan - I say we win by 3 with Dwight Howard fouling out. As a realist, it's going to be tough and I'm just praying no one else gets hurt. I do like the spark we've seen in the last couple games and hope that Kobe is talking about the importance of setting a tone for the season with this game.
I just noticed this - too funny! Well played real... http://lakersball.com/events/lakers-vs-rockets.9/
