Yup, and while I’ve heard and understand a lot of the criticism, I’ve really enjoyed pretty much every episode so far. The fantasy element of the White Walkers was always the part of GoT I was least interested in. The political intrigue is what hooked me. And HotD has that in spades. Lot of interesting plot lines they’ve been planting seeds for IMO. I do agree with the point that there aren’t really any likeable characters. I’m not entirely sure who I’m supposed to be rooting for. But I like that. I think all the different factions vying for the throne have valid perspectives. Makes it interesting cause I’m going back and forth on who I think deserves it.
I like this show better than Game of Thrones. *shrugs* Much less sadistic, stomach churning disgustingness and death, much more political intrigue so far. Just my opinion. The acting is phenomenal, the scene of tension in episode 7 was wow, and Paddy Considine in all of episode 8 was in incredible. The dinner table scene especially though, just incredibly moving. I can see this show will be going the GoT route probably from here on out though, so I may check out, I’m not into the war and gruesome death stuff so much. The characters coming into focus now, like the eyepatch kid and his rapist brother remind me more of GoT characters. You want to talk unlikable…
