I would complain that the travel time in this show is now like light speed travel in the new Star Wars movies, instant, but then as mentioned there isn't time for road trip scenes. There's only so many episodes left, and they can't go all externded edition LOTR walking, walking, and walking some more scenes. It's a bit jarring to see people go from one spot to the other end of the "world" instantly, but I get why it's necessary. At the same time it does strain things in other areas if you think too hard about it. Like for one, Cersei is just sitting around in her palace for months while everyone is traveling around the world doing stuff? Ok.. Nitpicking really though, the quality of the show is great, like the CGI on the dragons is movie quality stuff, so if the budget of less episodes allows for that, great.
Yeah I don't mind the fast traveling as much. I don't need to see random road trip scenes. For the most part, I'm fine with moving the characters to where they need to be to move the plot along. I'm more so nitpicking about the pace. For example, there are so many awesome character reunions this season, but since there are almost a few in each episode, no individual reunion feels as special as I thought it would. Not enough time in between the big moments to digest everything. And again, I'm nitpicking. I'm still loving this. Just think things could've been balanced better. If the showrunners had known from the beginning that they'd only have up to Book 5 to work with and then would have to write the ending themselves, I think they would've mapped out these last few seasons a little differently.
I think they could handle this season a bit better from a pacing standpoint. It's 7 episodes. The previous seasons had 10 episodes. I know they talked about how these episodes cost a lot, etc., but some little scenes to space out some of the big reveals could have been added and probably stretched the season an episode or two. A scene where Jorah and Jon talk about Jon's sword would be nice, and it would be cheap and easy. A couple more weird cryptic scenes with Bran would have been cheap and interesting. Make that scene at the end of this last episode last a little longer and a little more of the Fellowship of the Wall bringing up why they hate each other... Those are the types of scenes this season has been missing, and you can't really blame budget on not having them. But to echo Helljumper, that's nitpicking. The season has still been amazing.
Yeah. I read the Night King's real name turns out to be Pete, and he just wants one of Dany's dragons.
leave me out of the spoilers. Rather watch it with the world on Sunday and catch the reaction videos Monday and Tuesday as they come out. Love doing that and seeing how other people react to things that happen.
Without spoiling anything at all, I'd appreciate it if you can give a breakdown of how good the quality of this leak actually is. I'll be out of town on Sunday so I may actually wanna watch the leak now if it's in good quality. But I'm pretty picky. By good quality I mean essentially the same as if I were to watch this on HBO Go next week. I read one comment on a torrent site I briefly checked out about some audio sync issues. I wouldn't wanna deal with any of that distracting me when watching a major episode for the first time.
The one i got from torrent is more than decent! Pretty good actually. I realy suggest you WATCH IT ASAP.
Every episode keeps getting better and better, sucks that next week is the last of this season. Spoiler: Ep 6 We got the banter between the Suicide Squad I thought we were going to miss out on and it was fun. "He's too little for me." If you've played the GoT Telltale game, makes the bear they fought rather interesting. The whole Sansa vs Arya thing feels like a commercial for the more interesting parts of the episode. Dany (not Dany) has been looking very nice this season, digging the new outfits. Her facial impressions has been on point too. Give that raven a gold medal, totally Usain Bolt-ed to Dragonstone. Aaaaand enter Ice Dragon. Totally called Benjen saving Jon, wish his last stand was a bit longer tbh. They touched!!! And he bent the knee!!!
