I mean this is like Cleveland with Lebron and this year's Cleveland team. Yeah teams like Boston will get up for Cleveland but you're not inviting family members to see you play against Mitchell and Mobley. With this Lakers team, you have Stu Nance saying that he hasn't seen this many people in Chicago showing up to greet the lakers since freakin Showtime

and i think BPI might capture some of that with the rest days, etc. i think it's a proprietary formula, but it's meant to account for things like who's available when, i think.

anyway, we're a LOT better than our +/-, imo.

My son and I are at the Cosm in Inglewood in the middle of the giant dome screen near the front of section 2 watching the warmups. Seats are 150 each. OMG!!!!!!!! You can’t believe what this looks like. I’ll have a bunch of phone pics at some point. Go Lakers … bleep the Rockets.

I mean, there's nothing to really complain about. I thought that was a very well-played, playoff-level intensity old-school dog fight there.
Houston is great but they're going to regret not making a move for a guy like Fox - they need a closer. Amen Thomspon jeez he's going to be a beast if he develops an off the bounce game

Lakers on offense are going to have to go to a post with Lebron or Luka at some point against these switch heavy team with ultra athletic wings. That's the one area where Lebron and Luka can still bully ball these guys when the switch hunting isn't working or they go intense ball pressure

Rui not air balling a wide open 3 in the clutch would have helped but you're not going to get this shooting from DFS and Gabe either - Lakers just need 1-2 roleplayers to step up each game and they're going to be a tough out

Won the game, great FT shooting again as a team (i think we missed 2 FTs total?), and way to close in the end.

The lack of a midrange game against the best defenses is still the main concern for me .

Main takeaway from the game is that Houston’s lack of a true go to guy (partially due to lack of experience) is going to really hurt them in the playoffs and I don’t really see them as a huge threat this year. They’re a good team, but I don’t see them beating a healthy Luka/LeBron led team 4 out of 7. My biggest concern is OKC they are in a different class right now and they have been all season long.

Amen is going to be a star, IMO>

Onto to your second point, that's exactly what I thought during the game too. I like what they want to do conceptually, but Houston is one of the better defensive teams in the league (4th in total team defense) and they're so freaking athletic.

Ultimately, as I've said, I think the lack of a true big hurts, too. I can see why Luka mentioned a big to Rob when he asked, and more importantly, how it affects his game. I hope we make that happen this offseason.

Otherwise, good win against a quality opponent.

I will … just got home from the game. Bunch of photos to go through on phone and pick the best plus my thoughts on what the experience was like. In a preview … incredible and I can honestly say I think we enjoyed it more than having great seats at the actual arena. The shots from the end of the court were amazing and they switched them so you had the offensive team coming at you and the huge sharp images of these guys right in front of you but with some elevation for better perspective …. battling it out down there was incredible. Some Dodgers footage in promos went up too and looked amazing as we were leaving.

Playoff-level intensity in this win over HOU. The defense looked like it did before all the injuries and that nightmarish road trip.

Luka had a bad shooting night 6 for 16; 1 for 7 from deep. Lebron was 5 for 12. AR 5 for 11, 0-3 from deep.

And we still won. Largely 'cuz HOU played really great D on all of those guys and Udoka might have said, "Let Finney-Smith or Vincent or Rui beat us with their 3s. I don't think they will."

D F-S and Gabe: 12 for 25 from deep. Oops!

    What went Right:
We played that Defense that looked so great during the 18-4 run earlier this season.
We shot 18 for 20 from the line.
This game helped wash the Giddey shot away a bit.

What went Wrong: had to look at Dillon Brooks.

Rockets young and extremely talented, on a BTB on the road and they gave us a really tough game.

Eason's move on D F-S and dunk, then T: he clearly said something to D F-S after that, and it must've been bad 'cuz that's a weak T.

Lakers scored 16 in the 1st, but only gave up 19. Our shots we not falling and it was a huge-azzed drag because I wanted - we all craved in an intense way - a win after that game in Chi-town. But then the shots started falling.

We won the 3rd Q by 5 and it was all Effort, but it was huge.

Favorite play: too many defensive plays to mention, so I'll just say this one: we were having a really rough time scoring, then Lebron his a 3 off one foot, moving to his left and it felt kinda crazy to see that muthah swish.

Good win over a good team. Role players stepped up when we needed. I'm pleased
