Austin now averages 20.1 ppg. Has there ever been 3 Lakers to average 20ppg or more on the same team in franchise history?

Just be healthy. I want to test this Laker team against the young guns of OKC and Houston

    Nope.
Before I looked it up, I guessed 15ppg.
    It was 16.3 PPG.

those three have the possibility of all dropping triple doubles in the same game. May take overtime since there is only one ball, but dang, that's cool.

    James 25/6/8
    Doncic 29/8/9
    Reaves 31/7/8

Your team is pretty good if Lebron is your 3rd best player.

Luka and Lebron are good 2nd and 3rd options. We’re lucky like that

yeah, i've been doing a bad job of trying to enjoy this brief period where we have three guys this good offensively on the same team. that's on me.

It’s funny, the fandom was much more relaxed when AD was here. Expectations were lower and we had more or less accepted we were a team that could make a bit of noise in the playoffs but just as likely to make the play in because of our poor health and lack of parts.

We trade for Luka and go on a run and the expectations get adjusted really high. And now no one can actually enjoy the team anymore. We’ll win by 10 and fans will be upset we didn’t win by 30 and have guys sitting in the 4th. Or we’ll lose to a team that’s on fire and it’ll be pitchforks and tear it all down.

I think people get upset simply because we all saw them play so well, for an extended period where their defense was awesome and then for some reason, we start playing down to our opponent and let them steal games from us, then completely lose our mojo and are not even able to beat crappy teams. Dang frustrating, IMHO.

To be frank, I don’t believe our defensive intensity is possible over this stretch of a thousand games in one month that we’ve been going through.

As a result, we’re trying a little less on defence. All it takes for a switching defence to be best is one chink in the armour.

Abeer made a fantastic post about OKC, he said their super power is playing hard, and he was curious to see them in the playoffs, where everyone plays hard. I think it’ll level the field with them a little more. I don’t think they’re 15 games better than the opposition in the west. They may be 4-3 games better over a 7 game series. But they won’t sweep or 4-1 everyone.

I think in the playoffs, our defence will ratchet up to what we saw. It’s our offence I think we may have problems with. We haven’t meshed as well as we hoped offensively yet. We have half a quarter of free scoring and then it kind of gets bogged down a little bit.

I think the bolded is true, but I also believe there's a world 4 months from now where they romped through the playoffs pretty easily and win it all. Like they a couple of 6 games series but never have an elimination game. Their net rating is all-time good but I don't think they're all-time good, there's never been a bigger difference between regular season and post-season basketball and yes being young, deep and actually caring every night gives you a pretty high floor. But they're at least really damn good. In 2015 I was one of the idiots that thought the Warriors were smoke and mirrors but at the end of the day it would be the Spurs in the Finals again, or the Thunder if KD came back in time, or maybe even the f***ing Clippers. But then they get to the Finals pretty easily before struggling some with that depleted Cavs team.

oh, you'd have to favor okc to come out of the west; i just don't think the margin is really very close to what the numbers indicate. and i'd pick boston to beat them in the finals.

For the season our +/- barely remains above 0.

We are what we are at this point. Nobody wants to face us in case we catch fire, but we haven’t proven we can sustain it for any length of time.

i think i responded with this earlier this year, but BPI still really likes us. top of the heap after the three runaways (bos, cle, okc).

i really don't think we have to catch fire. we just have to be healthy, and we should be a tough out. i've been disheartened by our play since guys got back, but the schedule has definitely been brutal. we just need to hang on to a top 6 (preferably top 4) spot. it won't be easy, but it's doable.

Combination of the Lakers brand, the Lebron effect, and now Luka - the Lakers getting the best of other teams in terms of game plans, resting players, and return from injury is probably one of the reason Lakers fans get frustrated with these guys. Feels nothing is every easy with this team

Lebron and Rui, haven't fully gotten back up, to their pre injury form yet. Once they do, we are a legit title contender.
