it's possible our record differs by 5+ games already if teams just treated us like they treat other games.

Yeah it's a pattern. But to be honest, I don't mind it, it's the cost of being the best basketball team in the world. It also help us to get the Brons and ADs of this world, so there's a price to pay. I embrace it

What a fantastic win. If we can’t win a championship every year, I take solace in beating the C Bags as often as possible.

    Always and forever Buck Foston

Best defensive game of the season. Also best raised effort from the collective. JJ had them ready and everyone brought playoff-esque energy to this one.

    Also almost forgot:

Lakers play a full 48 on both offense and defense and beat the living crap out of the damned C-Bags. I'm in Laker fan heaven right now!

    Lakers 117
    Bags 96

    Buck Foston!

Up 15 at halftime, I was still nervous. I thought we downshifted in the 3rd and stopped moving the ball, jacked up some missed 3s for one-'n-dones, and totally expected the Bags to come back. When Tatum and Brown went 0-4 on FTs w/in a minute or so, I wondered: maybe it is our night? Still: the 3rd was a bit alarming. It was the only quarter we didn't win and we lost it 20-16.

We definitely benefited from BOS being on a BTB.

I got a bit worked up watching this one, I admit.

Lakers played a really good 1st Q. Up 9 with about 30 secs left, Bron burns clock, works the ball up to the top of the arc, gets around Kornet and into the paint, and slams: up 11 to end the 1st. My gawd to be 40 and fly like that!

Very physical game which made it extra fun. Especially when we're outshooting them from 3.

Horrendous missed call: AD gets the ball under the hoop for what would be an easy slam, Tatum comes over and rakes across AD's hands, arms and head...NO CALL! AD was livid. I was livid. You were livid.

I was worried the Bags would come out in the 4th and quickly get it under 10, but the Lakers made a 9-0 run and were up 24 with 10 minutes left. I started to feel high right about then.

Then, up 25, one of the Bags' white guy buzzcut nightmares, Hauser, laces btb 3s. Our D had done something it doesn't do: chase guys off the 3 line. You get lax against the Bags and one of 'em will make you pay. With 7:33 left after Hauser's 26 footer, we're up 19. Then:

AD hits a shot in the paint.
    AD blocks Pritchard
AD hits a 13 footer dished from Bron: back up 23.

What went Right: We beat the damned Boston C-Bags! Everything else is gravy.
What went Wrong: I got nuthin'. (Bronny didn't hit his FGA in garbage?)

I thought Jaxson gave us some strong mins.
    Dig: Max covering 'Zingis!
Dig: Max on Tatum. Max on Brown. Tatum: 5 for 12. Jaylen: 7 for 19. Oh hell yeah. HAIL yes.

Best win of the season. I wish we had a deeper roster, but we got some really good mins from all the starters, Gabe, DFS, Jaxson, and DK: 3 for 4 from long. 13 points in 14 mins.

    Savor this one, Lakersball.com

a hearty "you're welcome" to everyone, as my decision to not even record this one created a direct causal chain to the victory. i'm certain of it.

i'll try to watch the replay, but 27 assists to 6 turnovers?! where the hell has this team been?

This team lol. Before the Wizards game I was starting to think about LeBron and AD offseason trades. This morning I'm looking at the West standings and thinking "you know, if we could just get the 6 seed and be on the opposite side of the bracket of OKC/Denver...". Credit to LeBron and AD for actually backing up the leaks to Shams about wanting to improve the roster.

    Just finished the game.
I wish this team could provide this level of defense every night.
Best win of the season so far!

Ahahaha right??!! I feel the same, especially this year, it's crazy. Which tells me we have it in us, we are just unable to do it consistently.

excellent defense aside from knecht and basically every possession wherein we nonsensically went zone (and bailed out a pretty blah warriors offense).

gpII, wiggins, and podz all hit some shots out of their a**** to offset steph having trouble getting untracked, but we got the workman-like road win that i honestly wasn't expecting. draymond being out helped, i think. they let him foul AD in ways that the rando dutch 10-day guy doesn't get to do.

we let schroder get us in the first half, and i'm glad we went at him on offense after that. he's not a strong defender, despite the bizarre rep. he's just annoying. he can be scored on, by most anyone.

too many early turnovers in this one for my liking, but we cleaned it up and after 6 in the first quarter we only had 5 the rest of the game. same with offensive rebounds. gave up 5 early but only about 5 for the rest of the game. when we have as many FGAs as the opposition, i bet our record looks good. gotta stop beating yourself on offense.

thought max's two corner threes were the real key to the game. not only gave us a little breathing room but made them question their strategy a bit, which probably opened up the middle on some plays for AD/lebron.

gs is dealing with the same stuff we are--you don't know whether you're getting mvp curry or aging curry from night to night, and it's hard to gameplan around that. same here with lebron, imo. add in that gs's frontcourt is kind of a skeleton crew (i know folks love tjd, but he's a backup at best, imo), and kerr's got a tougher job than people admit.

also like us, i don't see the easy fix for them. any trade robs peter to pay paul, and they already have pauls to pay.

us, phx, and gs are all on the way out.

sorry, didn't mean to go dark after two nice wins.

great to see vando back and doing all the vando things, just making plays on both ends. you just know he's out there at all times, and that's good.

honestly, same with gabe lately. he's finally the guy we hoped we were getting last year. makes you wonder what our record would have been over the past 18 months with gabe and vando both undead.

Another fantastic win and I’m so glad Vando is back. He looked very confused and unsure of himself out there and still made a noticeable impact on the game. You forget how good a healthy in rhythm Vando really is. He can be impactful on both sides of the ball if you don’t have him only stand in the corner like Ham did.

We have to get in the reps with zone just so we have it as an option to throw at a team during the playoffs. But I can’t say I’ve seen much of an aptitude for it so far.

I’d give it a few more tries with some practice time before we scrap it.
