I'm with Slick. Go big or go home! I'd like to get Vucevic for Rui and Wood. He kind of provides the best of what those guys do at a more consistent level - he would be fantastic as a starting stretch 5 you could play with AD. And let's get a bruiser as well. Seems like we would have to choose then to use our seconds on either Vuc or Valanciunas unfortunately. Maybe we do go after Kessler then if we chase Vuc. I'd rather go that route personally. Not sure what it would take to get Sharpe but he's a nice option as well. 2 bigs to play two different roles would be ideal. If it's either or Vuc or Valanciunas well then maybe you go for Vuc and keep Gabe at backup 1.

pure logic says no, and that we should blow it up this summer. but that's not how we operate as a franchise, and i understand why. so we're left with the half-measures like the DFS trade and whatever might follow at the deadline.

slick's not wrong in that the difference between us and much of the league isn't dramatic, but we just have to depend on so much going right, and we haven't had it all going for a while now. no real reason to expect we'll get the level of luck necessary to get over the top in the next two years.

i could be talked into rui/wood both 2025 2nds for vuc at this point. especially if vando returns from the grave. part of me wonders if the wait here is about that. if vando's alive, we trade rui. if he's not, we look at smaller salaries like richards/sharpe/kessler (obviously huge pick cost on the latter).

Yeah..I think Vanderbilt's return, and more importantly, how he acclimates, is a critical part, in deciding what our next move will be.

And you know he wouldn't even be in the League if it was about his scoring. :Kareemlook:

Super impressive 2H. I can't believe they played great D almost the entire time. What a turnaround.

    Starters + Gabe all had great games. Went 13-29, 45% from 3, and 32-53, 60% from 2.

Only 6 turnovers vs Miami's 19 is incredible for this team. 12 steals and even beat them on o-boards 6-3.

Is he really in the league? He's played exactly the same games we have played.

Lakers snap a painful 3-game losing streak by coming out in the 3rd strong, down 12. Lakers cut the deficit to 5 when AR hits AD for a 2-footer. But MIA pushed it back to 10 when Highsmith dunked at 8:34 left in the 3rd. I prepared for another Laker meltdown. They would soon be down 25 before the 4th started and we'd be in Laker Fan Hell.

But that's not what happened: Highsmith missed a 12 footer with 8:08 left in the 3rd and AR got one of his 3 boards. (Austin Reaves had 11 dimes in the game.) AR hits a 3: down 7. 20 secs later Bron hits a 3: down 4. AD gets a block and Bron hits another 3: down 1 with 6:40 left in the 3rd. The other shoe didn't fall.

From there, a lot of bucket-for-bucket. Herro hits a long-azzed stepback to put MIA up 6 with 4:38 left in the 3rd. Oh no: here it comes. But not so fast...

...Herro and Duncan R hit shots: MIA back up 10 with less than 4 mins left. Then Gabe, AD and Hayes make shots, DK hits 2 FTs to put us down 3 to start the 4th. Will we lay another egg in the 4th like we did against SA last game? We will, it turns out, not do that.

73 secs into the 4th, Gabe hits a 3 to put us up 1. Then Jaxson hits one: up 3. Bron w/timeless-looking dunk: up 5. Rozier hits a shot: Lakers by 3. Burks hits a 3: tie game. From then on both teams traded baskets until 3:34, when the Lakers take a timeout.

    Bron hits a 3: up 5
Bron hits a turnaround we've seen a million times: up 7.
Bron hit a 15 footer with 1:52 left: up 9. It actually looks like we may win a game.
Lakers win a challenge, milk the clock.
Herro drives to the hoop and converts: Lakers by 7 with 71 secs left. Herro hit what? 7 3s in one quarter against us earlier this year, in one of the more dismal Lakers performances of the year? Dude is a Laker killer and gives me nightmares. Anything can happen with this guy on the floor, playing us. He had 7 3s against us tonight, but spread out over 4 quarters.

Max gets into the paint in heavy traffic and somehow makes the shot. I watched it a few times: it almost looked like he lost control of the ball and it still went in. Lakers by 9 with 43 secs left: fridge!: lights are out, butter's gettin' hard, eggs are coolin' and the jell-ooooo's jigglin.' Earlier Max had hit a 3 and it looked like he strained his knee and I thought he wouldn't play anymore, but there he is. Lakers play pretty good defense the last 5 mins of the game and beat MIA.

Let's face it: we are one major presence away from being one of the Top 3 teams in the West. But we don't have that guy. I don't know how we're gonna get that guy.
We are who we are. We're 21-17 coming up on halfway through the 82 and we look like we'll be lucky AF to avoid the play-in. Again.

But: perspective: given the world we're in, now, I'm just a Laker fan, win or lose. I don't expect much. Just to play hard for 48. Tautologically, Imma say it is what it is. Or, as one of my hilarious (and profane) Muslim friends says: "It is what it is...be!"

What went right: only 6 turnovers for the game. We shot 52%.

Next up: Brooklyn. The Clips kept them to 67 points for the entire game tonight. Get it, Lake Show!

This team refuses to play hard , especially in 1st halves . They did that in the 2nd half and won .

So many missed open 3's from the non-stars.
These guys need to bury these wide open shots - game was almost lost when Lakers run good offense and you get wide open shots and they clank over and over again

Lakers have struggled against the zone for years . All you have to do is put Bron at the high post in the middle of that zone and let him make plays but they refuse to do it .

at points earlier in the season, we were just putting dlo at the top of the key/ft line and really hurting zones. the same principle should apply to lebron.
