 As I said here before we don’t need ten Gabe, 1 Gabe misses enough open shots that it feels we have 10 Gabes already…

He actually looked playable? That's a small hurdle to leap and I'm still hoping Olivari gets a look

Maybe he just needs time to work back into game shape, I read somewhere someone saying he probably needs like 30 games to fully catch up because he missed so much time last year. For our sake I hope that’s not true, BUT, maybe there’s some validity to it as he just still has not found his rhythm or settled into his role. We need him to find his game, either to help us or to up trade value.

He was good, if he could just hit a couple more shots per game, just a couple I think we’d be fine with his play overall

He's a very good defender and does not foul much. It's not that he does not make shots... it's that he does not take many. It's hard to get any kind of rhythm like that. If he shot more, he'd probably make more.

yep. he's been every bit the hard-nosed, high hoop iq player i expected. just wanted a bit more shotmaking. not a lot. just a little.

It can still happen. This is JJ's thing .... putting players in positions to succeed. No doubt with last season and the bad shooting start to this season it's likely been in his head some. Black olives and the whole can of juice for @Khmrp  ;) if he becomes just a decent, let alone good contributor on offense, again, to go with the good defense.

Thought it was easily his best defensive showing as a Laker. Great to see that is in there somewhere.

Still need an uptick in impacting the box score stats. Something. If you're only getting a point per shot then fight for rebounds, get a steal, make a pass...something.

Yeah: He's just so small that even with a good defensive 1v1 shift you still might not come ahead as he's not giving you literally anything else including help off ball defense and winning the possession battles (i.e. rebounds).

Really hope they give Olivari a shot as he seems much more of an offensive threat and at least in the pre-season was also a pest defensively
