lol, look at him root sabonis off the block to prevent a potential offensive rebound. that gets my hoop juices flowing.

I don't get it. Irwin AND most importantly Larsuel said there's those within the team (Larsuel is within the team!) who aren't confident he's ready to come back. I can't figure why his people are pushing this. He's locked up for 3 years.

He'll eat Max's minutes. All of them. And Cam's depending on matchup. Gabe is the smallest guy on the team, still think Cam gets the looks against SFs and bigger 2s. He's going to be rusty. His shot isn't going to be there. His conditioning isn't going to be there. He hasn't (really) played this year. Shouldn't play this year. We have a wing and guard rotation that finally works and makes sense. Now we're trying to work this in.

Lol scored the only bench points today.

Well, he did his POA defender job decently today...hello to more minutes.

The only bench scorer today. Well... I'm happy he's back, he might prove useful for us... who knows?

I’m not gonna be like @LTLakerFan and celebrate the 2pts he scored like he’s MJ but that’s something

He’s a playoff player, at least so far in his career, so it’s important he’s back. He and Vando back will be huge if we make it in, or for the play-in games. Again, he’s supposed to be DLo insurance for the games he just can’t buy a shot and just vanishes because if he’s not scoring he tends to not play very hard anywhere else. Gabe being a gamer is what they bet on, we will see, but it’s great that he is not dead and is not fully Nunn 2.0.

Nothing to not like today except again shots not dropping. Yet. He’s probably quicker laterally than any of our other guards? Taller than Schroder and looks like a bulldog with his build. Definitely will have more offense than Cam if we need that at the time plus the tough POA defense.

I’m hoping you’re right and he becomes a Dfish type in the playoffs.

His second half was bad but a lot of rusty type mistakes.

Still could see with Vando back the bench unit becomes totally new. Prince , Cam and max lose most of their minutes to Gabe Dinwiddie and Vando since they have more 2 way pop

Does he have the runway to get where he needs to be?

I think that's what it boils down to. I don't think he does. He's missed the season and that's not a switch that you can nearly just flip on and off.

So huge tonight with that sick bank shot trailhead away. I think he called it.

Some solid defense for his first game. If he can do that nightly, sure go ahead and eat Max and Cam's minutes. Maybe some TP, but that will mean going small and I'm against that.

I think there will be matchups where we need Cam's length instead of Gabe, so I don't think he should automatically pull Cam into default DNP zone.

I didn't like some of the lineups we used with Gabe out there even with this defense. Three guard lineups when two of them aren't/ can't shoot or score will be brutal against playoff level teams.

Yeah, his defense is good. Hopefully, his offense can come around a bit by the play-in.
As for the guys he was in the court with: I’m tired of typing the same thing about Ham over and over again.

    Faith in the training staff?!

Gabe definitely hasn't been around the team during his injury.

Honestly idk why everyone so hyped about Gabe...thought he looked OK and of course, Ham used multiple 3-guard lineups and even had one where it was Prince at the 4 and Castleton at the 5 with those 3-guard lineups.

Gabe Vincent being effective for us will come down to Ham being logical with his lineups and not over-thinking it like he has in the past and STAYING AWAY FROM 3-GUARD LINEUPS against BIGGER TEAMS. It worked against BKN cuz they use smaller lineups but it won't work against majority of the western conference. Going to be very annoyed when he does that in the next few games

It’s a double edged sword. I’m glad to see Gabe back because I think if we are going to do anything in the post season we will need better defense. However, having him available means a risk of Ham overusing him potentially in bad lineups as he likes to do. Still I would rather have him than not.
