And it is a great read. Wish they would give this kid a minimum type salary 2 year deal starting next year with team option on the second. Good chance another team is going to nab him away. He's got the mindset and work ethic, improving skills, is a hell of an athlete and is tough and unaffected .... gym rat type. Especially after reading Pincus's article on the wasted assets.
Maybe we should throw some of these guys on the main roster instead of guys a year away from retirement
It’s so nice to hear and read about guys like Mac and Mason. Guys that really appreciate the opportunity to play. Our vets needs to remember that spark of joy they use to have when they first came into the league and play like they care. This season was total mail in play from so many of our guys.
McClung is going to be an NBA player. Book it. He has the speed, strength, hops, toughness, confidence, right attitude and growing NBA level skills handling the ball and making moves. Kid is a bulldog on D for a rookie and has the quickness to stay in front of players. Only going to get better. Makes plays and I have NO doubt he's going to become a reliable shooter and scorer as he works his a** off even more this summer. Let's not forget he broke Allen Iverson's state HS scoring record. G-League Rookie of the Year. Congratulations. Love seeing him and Reeves on the floor together because they're exciting players and fundamentally sound.
Not sure how I missed this. I completely agree, does McClung have a thread? Going to be a good player. We actually have some good young pieces despite everything as long as we don't do anything foolish. Reaves and McClung will be fun for many years.
i thought mac looked like crap in summer league, so i'm glad to read that piece and see that there's been tangible growth since then. he's obviously got some physical tools; it's a matter of finding the right role and learning how to leverage them. again, i'd like him to watch a lot of jjb film, as that's what he's got. he's a little bigger and not quite the shooter, but otherwise that's the archetype, imo. and jjb had a good 10-year run as a backup scoring pg.
He is playing with confidence it seems now and much better. I have very high hopes for him. Plus he is just fun to watch.
South Bay now 1st place in the West. And tied for the best record in the G-League along with the Clippers, College Park Skyhawks and the Rio Grande Valley Vipers at 12-4.
that's a helluva dunk. as a small guy, the never-put-the-guide-hand-back-on can surprise defenders. i did this a lot when i wasn't old. not the dunk part. layups. though if the rim was slightly bent...
i've wanted huff on the big squad since last year. said over and over in the summer that he's an nba player. very surprised someone else hasn't picked him up, tbh.
