Just like in preseason, Upshaw screens really high sometimes - like at the three point line. I'm not sure we need him all the way out there. That's a job for a PF
Utter collapse by the D-fenders. They're up only 1 after this quarter. Good opportunity to see some of Upshaw's weaknesses still. He pokes at the ball a bit; should just hold position against bigs.
Upshaw...umm...takes a three. Missed. Then gets a steal at the other end. Teammate gets knocked down. Upshaw runs over - first teammate there to check on him.
Upshaw likes to play a kind of zone in the paint for shot blocking (or so I've read). But he's so long that he does a gret job of chasing ball handlers out of the paint.
I like him getting these reps. It's only going to help. I want these notes in here, too, so people have an idea what Upshaw is doing, what his strengths and weaknesses are. We didn't get to see much of him in preseason.
Finishes at 6/6 with 2 blocks in 23 minutes. He'll have to be more productive than that, but it's not bad.
