Porter's projections (even with his health issues) are top 7...top 10 at the very least.

I can see the Celts climbing the board with all the assets they have, but the Rox have the 46th pick and Okc has the 53rd and 57th picks (with alot of their future 1st round picks are tied up in previous trades).

So how do they work their way up the board, unless Porter's stock has dropped and I'm not aware of it.

he returned prematurely from that back surgery, he might scare teams and drop to the mid teens

Just an interview, but definitely curious. Who are they trading that's likely to be worth a lottery pick?

    I think that's a BS report.

If we were giving someone a promise, it's more likely to be DiVincenzo or Spellman I would think. Spellman profiles with the type of player we like: smart, skilled, even if not a top shelf athlete. Divincenzo IS a top shelf athlete and has also been a heck of a gamer.

Robinson is a great athlete, but little else is known about him and he's ducking the combine. That's not something I expect this FO to look highly on for a guy not expected in the top picks.

well, i think increasingly these interviews are to get a foot in the door for FA periods in the distant future. still, though, houston's the only team without a high pick that he's spoken to.

agree. robinson does NOT seem like a lakers guy.

saw an interview with spellman, and I really like him. he's an undersized center who's a bit slow, but high hoop iq, team-first, skilled, great attitude on and off the court.

He probably figures it doesn't hurt him to just interview with OKC/Rockets just in case they somehow manage to snag a high pick and they figure it's worth their due diligence, even if unlikely.

Porter is healthy now and if that's the case, his stock will only rise. Barring a re-injury, I'd be stunned if he fell past the Knicks at #9 and I think he can go as high as #4 to Memphis.

He also has a solid skill set that fits for us. He's a very good shooter. He rebounded well at the Combine. Also keep in mind, this is a kid who had tremendous success in college which is bound to be another plus for the organization. He profiles way more as a guy we'd guarantee.

As for the interview, that makes a ton of sense. I wonder if that's a weapon more teams should be using.

We probably leaked that we gave Robinson a promise just to keep everyone guessing as to what we’re doing. With as tight lipped as this organization has been (even with Mitch), we’re suddenly going to give away that who we’re targeting with the #25 pick? Rob is savvy enough to make a move like this.

Would it be safe to say that DiVencenzo is what we hoped Caruso was going to be? That’s what comes to mind when I think of his role would be and playing style.

They're different players. I'd say DiVincenzo is more like Clarkson. Caruso still wants to set people up more than take a shot.

Divi, Hart,Kuzma,Bryant and Zu would be a very young and intriguing bench.

Add in a PG in the 2nd round (my preference has been Jevon Carter for weeks but I feel like his stock will rise through the draft process) and the team actually consistently playing Zu or playing TBryant at all, then definitely an intriguing young bench.

I'd like to groom Divi as the facilitator combo PG role.

That's fine but in the meantime I'd still like to add a proven PG prospect, preferably one known for stout defense.

For some reason, I don't think Divi makes it to us. People will look at our success with Hart and probably snag him in the high teens/low 20s. I hope I'm wrong and we can take him (but of course I hope we don't even have the pick and it's with whoever took Deng off our hands), but I think he's the type of player people like in that late teen area.
