This draft is lousy. The number one pick skippered a 9 win team. A team that lost it's last 13 games. Ball might be the only NBA ready player. Fox and the rest all have gigantic weaknesses in areas in today's NBA will be a detriment to their progress and if they go to an average or below average run team which 3/4's of the NBA are, they will risk losing confidence and then more than likely never living him up to their full potential.
This draft is at least 20 deep with kids that can stick in the NBA. The draft doesn't have to provide 12 All-Stars to be a good one. For instance this draft is far and away a better draft than 2016 was or 2014 for that matter.
I think Jackson is more of a 3 and a small-ball 4. I don't see SG in him; as for Ingram and Jackson being a good fit; maybe if one of them could shoot. Jackson shot well in college, but I'm not sold on his jumper at the NBA level and I'm also concerned about his shot creation ability. Bare in mind, I like him. I just don't thin he's worth a second-round overall pick, IMO.
In this day and age, especially some of you in here who LOVE that PERs and TQ% and BBQ% and TLC's. I go by the straight results. Let's look at the top picks since the turn of the century and especially since those idiots Stern and Billy hunter voodoo'd the bigger idiots, the players, into a CBA that was one of the worst for a professional league in 2007 by creating a one and done and turning trades into NASA equations to get done. 2000 Kenyon Martin - a** 2001 Kwame Brown - Garbage 2002 Yao Ming - Overrated 2003 Lebron James - FINALLY 2004 Dwight Howard - Could have been but....... 2005 Andrew Bogut - Meh 2006 Andrea Bargnani - BUST and 2 half's 2007 Greg Oden - Bust and 14 half's 2008 Derrick Rose - See Dwight Howard 2009 Blake Griffin - Ginger dudes never win and even the one that did, had 5 healthy years in the NBA 40 years ago. 2010 John Wall - Meh part 2 2011 Kyrie Irving - Most clutch since the turn of the century but was shepherding 20 win teams before Lebrone came back 2012 Anthony Davis - OVERRATED to the point of comical. Yah, I know, he has great skills but WINS are not there. Sorry, no wins, no pins. 2013 Anthony Bennett - Biggest bust in NBA history at the 1st overall pick 2014 Andrew Wiggins - Jerry Stackhouse Part 2. Good player, will never be a #1 leading a title team. Barley would as a #2, IF. 2015 Karl-Anthony Towns - Is everyone an Anthony now? haha. KAT looking like Anthony Davis right now. All skill no wins to back it up. We'll see. 2016 Ben Simmons - Lousy college career. Worthless first year. He is in my overrated category at the moment until he shows me something. The NBA draft is baseball signings when a player is 18 out of high school. You have Ken Griffey's and Arods once in a generation. The rest take years to develop and years to win. With the pressure and BS from forums and fake a** news people nitpicking someones s*** and assuming they hate someone from it, this is the results. The result is 2 teams every year that have a legit shot of winning and the other 28 teams might as well go home and not waste anyone's time. Oh, an one of those 28 are the Spurs who "play the right way" until it matters or someone chokes.
This is BS, all rumors... Before they even had a draft pick secured Lakers were in love with Ball. Ball is going to be a Laker, it's just inevitable to have rumors like this. Plus it's better to hype other players so the C Bags stay the course and draft fultz and not Ball
That's interesting. If he had a reliable jumper, he's probably the 2nd pick. Either way, I'm still expecting Ball.
I wish the C Bags drafted Ball. Count me in. If the C Bags drafted, Ball, I'd dance naked int he streets. I think Fultz is a better prospect. Always have. He makes Russell expendable.
He may not be meh, but he isn't someone I think about when it comes to true difference maker. He is a star but not a superstar. Only a handful of those, if that much.
Pelinka has an intimate familiarity with Fultz the person and the influences (his inner-cicle) around him; same can be said about Ball; a local product who went to UCLA. Two top prospects and we have unique knowledge of and since Magic and Pelinka are both high on character, that counts for something...
