Hell he's 98/100ths as good as Klay Thompson!

That's really cool. It's not about the time though. Getting off a shot requires space and time. No one has said Lonzo has a slow release. They've said he has a strange, weird release - and it make take room that others' don't.

We won't win more than 34 games, in my view. I don't see Nance as a C either.

I think Nick is gone though, and I hope we make some moves.

Defense is definitely going to be an issue, but to be honest it would have been for any of the young kids we drafted. Fox is better, but we got to keep in mind Fox is a really skinny guy. At the combine he weighed in at only 177 pounds. Fox is more focused defensively and he's definitely more engaged on that end, but any 19 year old kid playing grown men is going to struggle to adjust.

There's not much we can do about fixing the defense with draftees. The best defenders will be FAs. We could try to focus on bringing in defenders with some of our available cap space this summer. Andre Roberson is an RFA. Tony Allen is a FA. Thabo Sefolosha might be cheap. Andre Iguodala is out there but he's not the defender he used to be. Tony Snell, Robert Covington, KJ McDaniels. On the big side Taj Gibson is a good tone setter, but he OKC might try to retain him. Nerlens Noel is an RFA, Nene.

    OK.

the more I watch film on Lonzo... the more I am impressed with his physical attributes. He is lowkey (thanks, DAR) atheltic. He has a pretty nice standing and running jump, on some dunks from highschool his head is nearly at the rim and he dunks one or two handed easily, he times oops (where he is the finisher) nicely too.

Also, he is relatively ambidextrous, see for an example of a smooth left layup switching hands mid-air:

    Pretty solid 1-1 defensive footwork:

Bottom line, there is no doubt that the dude is a PG through and through.

Lavar has been making the circuit across the various sports talk shows and podcasts this week ever since the lottery. I've been watching all of it because it hypes me up to hear the family so excited to likely come to the Lakers.

So I've come to the conclusion that Lavar is actually pretty awesome.

He's been kissing Magic's a**, promising how he wouldn't think of interfering with anything, explaining how he never did at UCLA.

Most of the absurd stuff he says that makes headlines is obviously tongue in cheek, and then he makes some good points about how athletes are exploited and how shoe companies have too much power. If he has the means to produce the shoes the way him/Lonzo want and there is a market for it, why should he have to go through the billion dollar shoe companies? I feel like him and Kanye would get along :D

How many of the people who hate on Lavar have actually heard him talk for more than 2 minutes? It sucks that there is so much hate trickling down to Lonzo because of the hate on Lavar. To me it's another symptom of a culture that is getting their news through memes and twitter headlines (although to be fair, Lavar is exploiting that for his benefit too).

If you can't see what Levar is doing after all the reality shows and the Karcrapians, you either are stupid or just want to dislike to dislike.

Lavar is certainly entertaining. He drops a quotable every time I hear him talk.

Ball prefers to juke the defender in, the step back to create space. When he has room like two or three steps away, he doesn't hesitate to launch it.

You can't expect these kids to be like Curry and Thompson.... They're still fresh in the league. Klay and Steph have been in for multiple years, and therefore have refined their games... Lets not forget, Steph and Klay weren't one year projects... It took awhile before they actually became a force in the league.

I've heard Lavar a lot and I agree that a lot of what he says is taken out of context, but he brings basically all of it on himself. If he's going to be this outlandish person, he is going to have those reactions.

I'm not a big fan of blowhards and I'm not a fan of his attitude and I'm not really a fan of the predetermined approach to his son's future... I am a fan of entrepreneurship and I am a fan of someone having the guts to try to build their own company. It's not an easy thing to do.

But honestly, I don't care much about Lavar Ball. His importance fades as soon as Lonzo hits the court. It'll be on the kid to determine whether or not he succeeds at the next level when Lavar isn't there to push him one way or the other every day.

A great comparison of Fultz and Ball's offense with numbers.

The more I watch Lonzo the more I'm starting to think this kid may be transcendant.... and I don't use that word often.

Right. My claim is that he won't be able to do that so easily in the NBA.

That would be great IMO.....say that happens, Phi would pay to move to 2 to secure Fultz, we can move back n either get our 18'pick back or say Sac 2019 unprotected pick and still draft Ball #3...that would be a fantastic fantasy come true

Why? Everyone wants ball, y not take advantahe of the situation? Not saying its 100% guarantee but best case scenario we get sac 2019 pick and we're good again by then, id imagine with Sac history, they'll still be floundering at the bottom, we could have what bos just had this draft....we need to be progressive, i hated Hinkie but no denying he worked over a bunch of gms doing things like this, he destroyed Orl with that Saric/Payton trade and swindled Vlade 2 yrs ago
