because they made the offer? I dont care who they pick to be honest, I rather have 5th/10th then just 2.....I can already see this site crashing if we mgmt doesn't take ball at 2, all you ball fans are probably going to burn down magic/rob house lol

They did their due diligence with other prospects and fielding offers, but I believe the end game was always to somehow have the promise of Lonzo being at wherever they drafted (3, 4, 5) and also to have an extra asset.

well thats what I'm in agreement with, the end goal. I dont have anything against Ball but everyone assumes just cause you trade down you dont get the guy you want. Bos is going to get the guy they want and got paid to do so, I dont see a problem with us doing that. Hell even Pho would make it that much more likely we can still get Ball by trading back, as presumably they'll take Jackson, while Bos takes Tatum (i highly doubt they mess around with us and take ball seeing as how they went away from Fultz)

I blame a good deal of this on poor drafting more than the 2nd pick being a huge drop off or cursed or something. From 2010 on especially the teams picking at 2 are bad franchises or poorly run at the time. I do think Ingram was the best player available last year at 2 though, even if Russell probably wasn't with hindsight.

The thing with Russell was never his talent... Russell may end up being a Michael Beasley type: tons of talent with none of the other stuff that makes a great player. It wasn't like we picked Hasheem Thabeet or Darko Milicic. We didn't pick a stiff. Still, in retrospect it'd be great to have Devin Booker or Myles Turner right now. Whether or not they're more talented is questionable, but they seem to have their heads on straighter.

Let's do some speculation for Ball's 3pt shooitng. He was 41% in college. So, what is the rise or drop in 3pt% for good 3pt shooting rookie pgs from college to the NBA?
    College/NBA
    DAR: 41/35
    Curry: 41/44
    Kyrie: 46/40
    Lillard: 39/37
    Ball: 41/?
Hmmm... what are some guesses here? He's got that serious Curry-like range, but he doesn't have the quickness or insane handles to get separation, instead relying on a long fade-away shot. I'm going to say he's in the 36-38% range.

I think 35%-38% is within range. He displayed a super long ball in college.

It'll very much depend on how much spacing Ball can get with the current squad.

We have zero shooters currently, so I can see defenses playing him tight and forcing him to the basket to make a play.

35% would be amazing, as long as he's also dropping 6 assists a game.

Brook is actually about as good a 3pt shooter as Dlo is, so we do have at least one 3pt shooter

Someone needs to tell these guys they aren't as cool as they think they are. Put down the camera.

And BTW, I pop about 10x better than you Lonzo. Please don't do that again and record it.
