Liking Fultz significantly more than Ball doesn't mean they aren't really high on Ball. I'm sure we tried to move up to get KAT but were still really happy with DLo.

And it's very possible that the reports of us trying to move up were floated by Boston to get more concessions from Philadelphia. I'm really hoping we didn't actually offer #2 AND Randle for #1.

is there anything to confirm the lakers offering 2 + Randle for the 1st pick? I remember seeing the idea, but I'm don't have the time to dig through articles right now.

#2 + Randle for Fultz just doesn't seem worth it to me. I would hope it was a quick call to gauge the market and someone through that idea out.

If the Lakers aren't high on Ball they'll trade down. Really simple. Phoenix would love to get him.

So, if we have Ball on Thursday, we like him. If we don't, we didn't like him.

I can't find the tweet. However, it's reported by Woj and other outlets the Lakers were or had made an offer to secure the number 1 pick. Jonthan Givony of Draft Express started the rumor (Randle/Number 2 pick), Keith@NBA (Twitter Handle) was told this morning that the Lakers made a run for the number 1 pick this morning but no one knows if/what the Lakers offered for certain...

Again, none of the Lakers sources mentioned anything about us trying to move up to #1. I don't fully buy it.

Even if it's true and we really tried hard for Fultz, that doesn't mean that there couldn't have been some key members of the organization that still prefer Lonzo.

Obviously if we end up with Lonzo the franchise is gonna try to spin it like he was our #1 choice. So if Magic was blown away by Fultz, but Luke made a passing comment during one of the workouts about how he thinks Lonzo is the best fit, then that's the clip you air on a Backstage Lakers segment after the draft. That's all I meant. Not trying to claim that the whole franchise unanimously prefers Ball because obviously that's insanely far away from the truth...

I kind of want to see us take Jackson just to cause chaos.

That'd be funny. All the C Bags would do though is draft Tatum.

I want us to workout Tatum. We haven't seen him, yet. I want, too. See what he has...

So I just finished watching this:

After seeing those highlights from a page or two ago. I'm going to keep it positive mostly because at times this is a glorified All-Star game for HS kids. Here's what I saw in tiers:

    Tier 1:
Fultz- Popped off the page so to speak. Speed, agility, quickness, strength, creativity, an ability to get to the rim, good shooter.
Ball- Pace pace pace pace, great passer, good instincts on both ends, lead with intensity needed to win.
Monk- Explosive scorer, great athlete, good-not-great passer.
Josh Jackson- Great defender, great athlete, great passer, some loose but effective handles, good competitor.
Tatum- Good intensity and fight, solid scorer, found ways to be effective.
Frank Jackson- Good athlete, great shooter, solid all around game.
Bam Adebayo- Fantastically strong, controlled the interior, great athlete, was Herculean at times.

    Tier 2:
Miles Bridges- Had a flair for the fun play, competitor, very athletic.
Zach Collins- Solid game, showed a little shooting ability, mixed it up underneath.
Jarrett Allen- Some good some bad, but great activity. Battled on the glass. Ran the floor well.

Guys to keep an eye on:
Kobi Simmons- Fantastic athleticism, needs experience.
    Terrance Ferguson- See Kobi Simmons.
Kyle Guy- Had some flair to his game. Decent mechanics on his jumper.
Marques Bolden- Great athlete. Hard runner.

    Guys who were disappointing:
TJ Leaf- Was thoroughly out played by Adebayo. Not a good look for him physically as a pro, hard work, but couldn't hang.
Fox- Was out of control almost the entire game. Horrible shot, bad passes, looked out of his element.

    Guys who were awful:
Alterique Gilbert- Tried to put on a show but instead was a ball-hog. The kind of kid who you never want to play pick up with.

There is zero confirmation of this offer. This offer was floated out by Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress in a tweet. People took that and ran it as an actual offer.

I do believe the Lakers tried to trade up to get Fultz. I don't know what it was we offered, it may have even been Randle/#2 for #1.

I also believe that the Lakers will be absolutely happy with either Ball or Jackson. They've had nothing but good things to say about them publicly. In fact they've been staunchly in favor of both publicly.

Also, I believe that "C Bags will decide between Tatum and Jackson" thing is insurance in case the Lakers get cheeky and take Jackson. The C Bags are daring them to do it and then they'd take Tatum which would drop Ball into Phoenix's lap where he'd be universally praised by the media as the next great guard and we'd hear never ending comparisons to Steve Nash.

Stephen A Smith said on SportsCenter that the Bulls were willing to trade Jimmy Butler to the Sixers for the 3rd pick. Said it's Boston's goal to try and trade the 3rd pick for Butler now, plus sign Gordon Hayward. If that's the case this makes sense, Butler>Fultz. If it's the case it's also more embarrassing if we actually offered Randle and the 2 for the 1. I'd be offering that for Butler instead, so I hope it's not true.

I think Lakers are in talks with Sacto about trading down. Want 5 and 10 for 2 and Randle.

I think Randle + #2 sounds like too much. JR and Ball are being devalued too much here imo. I don't think Ball's potential has been extracted to the extent that Fultz's has YET. Ball's game is more complicated and he's bigger and longer. He could guard 1-4 with training.

Before the lotto we all said how awesome it would be to be in a position to draft Ball. We're there, let's not mess with karma (or whatever you want to call it) is my feeling.

I think Magic ultimately won't pass on the upside of Ball and the chance to bring back exciting Laker ball. The LaVar stuff is crap imo. The kid's got a built-in support system with an awesome competitiveness among his siblings and dad. And it's here in LA. Lavar's a positive, I'd live to have a dad that active in my career at that age. And I could give a damn about his shoe deal but I'm sure he'll be fine there too.

Not sure you meant to quote my post, my post says nothing about doing anything other than keeping the #2 and taking Ball.

From what I have seen, Fultz is a shorter Paul Pierce but his wingspan and explosiveness is like Kobe. I think he is the next Brandon Roy.
