ah yes. we've learned little from that episode. rob isn't an idiot, and i doubt he's malicious enough to just randomly call and try to tank DFS's value. again, you'd have to be both stupid and evil to do this. not to mention that if he was actually discussing a free agent's medical status with people outside the organization, i'm pretty sure that's probably violating the cba. so if irwin's source has the receipts, they could get their wish tomorrow!

agree. again, we'll see. maybe capela has a market at more than tpmle?

i was one of the few who wasn't nuts about the deal at the time, but i really like DFS and just think he's a winning role player and good guy to have on your team. i'm not happy he's going, but i understand this one. this isn't a caruso situation, where it made zero sense at the time and even less later.

Too early to judge anything. I loved the trade and will be sad to see DFS go.

Not really going to go deep into this one but it wouldn’t be the first time a sports team tried to manipulate the market around a player.

I will also say that these kinds of rumors are also a good way to get sued and your whole little blog/website shut down if it’s a lie.

this is my point--that's a serious allegation he's tossing out there. if it's real, rob can not only be fired but maybe prosecuted? i just...wouldn't have said that even if i felt pretty confident in my source, tbh. it's wild.

Yeah. That’s a major allegation to just toss out there. I definitely would have kept that in my pocket even if I trusted the source

How would Rob know how many teams to put that out to that were going to have serious interest in the first place? Who would all realize what a wrong thing it was he was doing, and no one is going to give that up to the media being the Lakers and all? How stupid would he have to be .... over late in his career and close friend of Luka ... Dorian Finney Smith?

I wouldn't give him that contract if it's fully guaranteed. Good call

Good for DFS. No way we were throwing in a fourth year like that. I don't feel so bad. Go after Ayton and maybe Brooks or Capela as well or Melton.

Not a fan of DFS trade for Russell but it was fine tenure here, he was not great offensively

Sucks to lose him. Really sucks to lose him to a Western Conference team who STACKED up this summer. He'll be missed as a leader, defender, glue guy and locker room voice.

On the medical stuff. We'll see. Lane danced around there being something going on there but stayed away from discussing it (so he was likely hearing something similar to Irwin). Whereas Irwin drove straight through that road block.

Well, he has to pass a physical, so if there’s something alarming, I’m sure they’ll call it off or renegotiate it.

well, we all knew he got ankle surgery, right? the question was whether rob was telling people that things were bad so that he could turn around and sign him for cheaper (and believed that this strategy would work, lol).

(Could be anti Rob propaganda, but for sake of discussion....)

Cause Rob has never told a story that's easy to debunk or one people can find out he's lying.

Like I don't know....saying Kobe had dinner with Heath Ledger who was dead at the time.

one that could get him into serious trouble? i really can't get over the ascription of stupidity in the face of a lot of evidence to the contrary. confirmatory search, ftw.

ask irwin how lopez's laker jersey is fitting.
