I’m more excited about Freese actually. This team has talent, but to me they are shaky on having a killer instinct. That’s mental and experience like Freese can only help in that area. Any bullpen help is desired I guess considering the team’s challenges. But he might just be another piece for Roberts to play with during times of excessive analytic substitutions.
I'm happy that they found a way to win yesterday's game. Much of the game had the same frustrations we've been talking about here. Nice to see a comeback and Floro and Jansen holding a tight lead. Rosters expand today and I hope that Verdugo gets more playing time.
Big series vs. the Rockies this weekend, perhaps bigger than the Dbacks series last weekend. We need to gain some ground on them after losing 2 out of 3 vs. the Mets. It's going to be difficult with Kenley sitting out due to his heart problems.
Sweeping the Turd birds and the Crockies would get them ready for the playoffs. Win the division and then get the title that belonged to the Dodgers from last year.
Holy f*** Yasiel!! I almost and sometimes "bandwagoning" as with this post for what he did ....still care ..... even though they don't care I can't watch them on DirecTV.
Yasiel just single-handedly taking the true dirty birds down. Amazing. I absolutely love Walker Buehler. The kid is an absolute stud with a terrific mindset. His fastball is shocking and when he changes speeds it's truly beautiful to watch him work. Great weekend thus far for the Dodgers. Turner and Machado during their thing. Puig the X-Factor. Now is the time for them to heat up and they're taking their shot at it right now.
I think we were in first place in the NL west before that loss to the Cards on Sunday. It flip flops around a lot with only a half game between us and the Rockies. Ryu was awesome yesterday, he's had a very good year so far with a 2.18 ERA. I'd like the Dodgers to try to keep him, perhaps on an incentive laden deal due to his extensive injury history. We got Kershaw and Buelher pitching for us next, which gives me a lot of confidence heading into these next two games. Hitting wise, we are the Rockets of baseball. Live or die by the home run.
Walk it off. And we've got a 1.5 game lead. This doesn't feel as magical as last season, but maybe in some ways that's better. I do like that they're clawing for wins right now. Maybe they can continue to feed off this energy.
I feel that this team is just very inconsistent unfortunately. We know they can pile in the runs when they're hot, but when they're cold, they are unable to drive in runs with RISP. Happened yesterday when they had the bases loaded with one out vs Greinke. It also doesn't help that the rest of the NL West has been colluding to topple us down. I remember reading that the Dbacks manager told the Rockies manager that they will trying hard vs. us. The Giants are also starting Bumgarner on Friday to try to screw us over. Meanwhile, the dbacks and the especially the Phillies bent over for the Rockies. The Rockies are on track to score 40 runs in 4 games vs. the Phillies! Fortunately for us, the Brewers and the Cubs are in a tight race for 1st in the NL Central, and the Cubs will try hard vs. the Cards and play spoiler for their playoff chances. We're in for a ride, it might take one off games to break potential ties between us, Rockies, and the Cards.
We have clinched a wild card spot! What a up and down game, Kershaw didn't pitch well again but the bats came through in the end. Manny hit a clutch triple to break the 5-5 deadlock in the 8th and it was great to see insurance runs in the 9th.
Kershaw is by far the biggest choker of any significant games for a future hall of Famer I have ever seen. Roger Clemens used to be that guy for a long time. All regular season with zero playoff balls. I wouldn't trust Kershaw in a 7-0 game in his favor if it was still in the early innings. Walker Buehler is the future and he has major sack. If the Dodgers can win it somehow this year, once Kershaw opts out, I would let him go. Tired of watching him pitch when it matters.
