now im getting doubtful we have the fire to make it happen. That was a horrible inning for us at the plate not a single hit by our big bats.
I'm just sad of seeing Bellinger out there. Do we have no one to pinch hit for him? The top of the order has been such a let down this series while the Astros top of the order has been so clutch.
well... that was horrible but in the end, like I said before, this team and series was a great series to watch. Hou earned it. We didn't do what was needed at the plate. 11 guys left on base. No big hits when we needed it. Great season overall. Bright future too.
Sad that game 7 was such a whimper, but it’s hard to live up to last year’s I guess. Again, I’m not a Dodgers fan, but I was rooting hard for them. Kinda feels like Houston was one of those teams of destiny, like the Cubs last year ending the drought, like the Saints after Katrina, they had that little something extra propelling them.
The young guys choked (looking specifically at Bellinger) as did Justin Turner. Our rotation at catcher turned into just Austin Barnes and he couldn't do it. A lot of blame will get put on Darvish, but the bats were way, way more to blame for this loss. I'm in the dumps right now. This one is going to take a long time to get over. Who knows when they'll be back. Hopefully soon, but baseball is weird. You never know for sure how this'll work out. I can tell you without exaggeration this is the most talented Dodger team I've ever seen. They just choked when the lights where bright. I don't know how to fix that.
You took the words out of my mouth real. It's going to be very hard to get over so many things that's happened in this series. On the other hand, we got all the tools to go deep again. Hopefully, we can be like the 2015 Royals and learn from the WS loss and win it all next year. I'll leave you all with something from Vin:
I was hoping 2010 MLB version. Sigh... I don't follow baseball much but wanted some joy for the city.
I honestly could not watch the game as I sensed this would be the outcome. I frankly didn’t think we’d win game 6. Houston’s offense was aggressive like a buzz saw. Similar to some of the teams that have won this century when they were just on a ferocious roll. Maybe we should have been listening to Metallica instead of reggae before the game... To be fair, if you look at this team as you would a basketball team, I don’t think we would expect a team where our best players are 1st and 2nd year players to actually have the endurance and experience to close a finals, especially a Game 7. I got the feeling that a few guys were on running on fumes by the time we went to Houston. Dodgers couldn’t keep up. Great season nonetheless. We have a Pennant to show for it. Not bad. And we have great talent and very competent management with an ownership that is willing to spend the coin. We will get that trophy within the next two years. Thanks for a great entertainment experience this year DODGERS. Now onward to the Lakers!
The moment Yu threw that lead off double, I knew we were in for a long night. The Astros struggled against our lefties this series, but Roberts still went for Garbish. Wood could have easily come in and pitched 3-4 innings like Kershaw. These mistakes like the Game 2 decision with Kenley, ultimately cost us the series. This should have been over in 6.
Poor Puig. He gets home last night and his new house he'd moved into after last year's home was broken into during spring training and $170,000 in stuff taken ...had been broken into while he was at game 7 of the World Series. Saw news report on yahoo this morning. Fortunately they didn't get much, compared to last time. A-holes. Hope he catches someone in the dark with one of his bats on one of these, long as he doesn't get hurt.
Looks like the reason for why Darvish was so terrible in the world series has been revealed: he tipped his pitches. http://www.dodgersnation.com/dodgers-yu-darvish-tipping-pitches-game-7-world-series/2017/11/03/
I heard that today when I was out. Smack all our heads. Dummy. And no one on our coaching staff picked it up? They said he was known to have been rumored to tip his pitches before he came to us. Fastball gripped tight with the arm dangling and no movement of it in his hand because it was set. The curve or other pitches more loose and the ball being shifted about just a tiny bit. All they needed to know to help was if it was the fast ball or not.
Looks like the Dodgers have their own Paul George offseason story: Stanton. What do you guys think of trading for him?
