I think it was pretty clear in the last two games that when things got tough, the team packed it in. They're going to give everything they have these last two games, but I hate that mentality. I hated the stupid cat-and-mouse with Lester. Just steal the base. F*** this jumping around nonsense, steal the base. You don't put pressure on him unless you follow through with the threat. Now we're in dire straights and I'm not sure I trust Kershaw and Hill to get it done. This Dodgers team did everything to get my hopes up and now I'm preparing for the worst.
I'm just an outsider looking in, but if you're down to your last 2 do or die games, who else would you want (no, you can't have Bumgarner). Seriously, I think your team has a great shot. The Cubs are historical chokers. Win game 6 and watch their sphincters tighten.
I agree it's not the worst spot for the Dodgers, but while it may not be 108 years since we've won it all... It's been a loooooong time. I need to convince myself now that this is unlikely to limit the pain my soul goes through.
Real- You called the danger of the Cubs bats the other day. They did wake up but it has been more about our failure plus (their) Baez play. I think we lost this game in the 1st inning with the first runner on base. When Hernandez didn't steal 2nd after all that taunting I knew, and the Cubs knew, We weren't going to be aggressive. We showed bunt I think 14 times but I think we only put 1 down which was by Agon who made a perfect bunt but that kid Baez is straight amazing. 2 of their wins came with 1 bad pitch by our most trusted bullpen guy Blanton. The grandslam and then the Russel 2 run homer. Those both cost us an ability to come back and broke the games wide open. And even then I thought we were still in good shape until (our) Baez came in and basically gave the game away. In the end, I trust Kershaw but thinks he needs to do something he hasn't done in the playoffs to my memory and that is pitch 8 shutout or 1 run innings. We hardly ever score a ton of runs with Kersh on the mound so he'll have to carry the load. If he is on I think we make it a game 7. I'm also hoping John is right and the Cubs are too young to keep their poise
I think something else we have not talked about is we have scored on Chapman each time (at least twice) that we have face him too.
well that isn't the start we wanted. Lead off double, followed by an RBI single, Toles drops ball on the fly to get runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs
Well we get out of that inning only giving up 2 runs but we need to answer back. Agon grounds out. Reddick on after the Baez error. Joc up with 1 down
and we can't stop shooting ourselves in the foot. Reddick gets thrown out at first to end the inning ugh this doesn't feel good right now
its not but we seem to be just one play short of making a run or getting the momentum on our side. Last 2 games we did that and it cost us.
Kersh gets that K but needs 7 pitches to get the pitcher out. He doesn't have his best stuff so far. We need to get out of this inning and give the man some runs. He is pitching like he has to do it all. Yup, Fowler gets the RBI but we get him out on the bases 3-0 cubs
I actually think Kersh will settle down and we need it. The bullpen is shell shocked both our biggest bullpen guys (outside of Jansen) have blown it Blanton and Baez. Im hoping Kersh can give us 6 but we can't afford another run without us putting up some runs. These next 6 batters will be crucial.
