I dont feel like talking about this team anymore.. ALL OF THEM disappointed me.. Yes Bullpen .. Yes Manager... but other than Greinke who really stepped up? Puig choked. Kersh choked. Not very promising at all

Dodgers pull Friedman from the Rays to be the new President of Baseball Operations. Colletti stays on as an adviser to Kasten. Mattingly stays on as Manager for now.

The GM spot is up for grabs.

    BIG move by the Dodgers.

As they should. Highest payroll is baseball and you go out like that? Glad to see the team making some moves. I still believe in this roster, though. Mind you I didn't watch many games this year because of the lack of viewing availability.

The interesting thing about Friedman is his propensity to jettison large contracts before they become less valuable than those players. We've got a bunch of those contracts on our books right now. Ethier, Crawford, and Kemp all come to mind immediately. Will he send one or two or maybe all of those guys out?

I'm really hoping he can help us find farm guys so we can sell some of these farm guys. We need pitching so badly. Bring in another starting pitcher worth a crap. Fill our bullpen to the brim with arms.

My boy Matt Kemp. He hit .353 with a couple RBI and a HR.

Also, Hanley, Ryu, Ellis, Jansen (who should have replaced Kershaw the last game in the 7th after the two singles) and even Brandon League. :)

It's funny because if the Dodgers had ended up facing anybody but the Cardinals I think they're easily in the NLS. Then they play the Giants who they'd just spanked a few weeks ago, I wonder what would have happened there?

    Fate is funny.

Playoffs are a whole 'nother animal. How Bochy manages the regular season and how he manages the playoffs are so different. Matheny (who will be a really good manager one day) was managing yesterday like it was a regular season game and not like his season was on the line. Gotta have the "all hands on deck" mentality.

Cards and Giants were so evenly matched, but when you factor in the managers, you get a 4 games to 1 series.

No hate here man I get it. The Dodgers failed completely in the playoffs and that goes down the list from Kasten to Kershaw to Mattingly. I'm with you. Matheny didn't do a good job and Bochi is obviously one of the best.

It's just like any other sport though, luck factors in so much. Match-ups are just so important. We were a horrible match-up for the Cards. You guys were a much better one and it showed. I think we're a better match-up for the Giants, but it doesn't matter because you're in the WS and we're at home on our butts.

^^ I agree with you. Giants didn't match up well with Dodgers.

Honestly, I know this sounds blasphemous, but I'd rather let the Giants in the WS than the Cards.

The Giants took their losses against us with stride and even tipped their caps to us when we beat them for the Division crown. That's (gasp!) class. Think the Cards would have done the same? LOL!

Cards are a classless organization, carelessly beaning batters and starting crap just to "get ahead" (like careless flagrant fouls in basketball).

KC all the way though, but I'm glad at least the Cards aren't in the WS.

I think most baseball fans would disagree. In fact, the Cards and their fans are widely recognized as the definition of "class organization" and "loyal, knowledgeable" fans.

    Having said that, GO GIANTS!
