Man, Kersh can't keep his ERA down for the playoffs. I still want him to start Game 5, though. I know he's not known for big games like this, but no better time than now to break that stigma for him. He needs to step up in October.
Yikes. I know we need it but he already pitched on 3 days rest yesterday and you'd like him back tomorrow on 2 days for game 5?
Do or die right? We're talking a Cy Young, future HOF pitcher in the prime of his career, with the series on the line. His 70% is still better than what they got in the bullpen.
Um I am not going no but hell no on Kershaw pitching game 5. The dude gave everything in game 4. I think roberts will bring the kid out in the middle of this game Urias. (did I spell that right?) Anyway, Hill pitched a great game but gave up 1 bad pitch that got pounded. By that time we had left the bases loaded 3 times (maybe 2). Think of the difference of that game if we give him that cushion. He pitches differently.
Our best chance is if we tag Scherzer early, and if Hill and Urias can toss some quality innings. Can't let the Nationals or their fans get too excited or you will get overwhelmed easily. No doubt they are ready to burst out celebrating with every hit, every walk, every strike, and, well, practically every little opportunity.
For us, a good defense is good offense. Going to need to score early or else it the bats get really heavy toward the end of games.
No way you even attempt Kershaw in Game 5. That's how you blow out an elbow. He did enough for the win in Game 4 now we need to rely on the Blister Man. I'm not excited about Hill/Urias tag teaming this game, but I also think Scherzer is hittable. He has struggled every bit as much as Kershaw in the Playoffs, if not more.
Even though I think we need to get on the board early I am not sold we have to because our problem has been middle innings 4-7 where we seem to go cold. I do agree with Ace that the National fans are just waiting to erupt at every chance. That being said, we have proven we can and will win series on the road. I'm actually more confident when we play on the road than at home where we seem to be half a step slower. We can't let Scherz get into an "Ace" rhythm though. I think we have 1 of 2 outcomes tonight we either lay a giant egg or we take it by 2 or 3 runs.
Got in at bottom 3 and saw Hill get pulled for B. Now top 4 watching the ump give Scherz getting all the calls. Even the announcers are talking about it. Dodgers need to get that run back.
Man that was an amazing at bat by Turner. 14 pitches for the walk. Big time for Agon. 2 outs and 1 runner on.
reddick and pederson gets on and once again Grandal strikes out. he is like 0-9787987329872398573 with runners in scoring position. 1 down 2 on for the young kid Toles
Toles gets on. bases juiced for Either (pinch hitting). 1 out. Lets get that run Andre we are 0-9 with bases loaded
utley grounds out and that makes us 0-11... though announcer just 0-9 I don't think that is right. Either way we have sucked balls when it mattered
Urias gives Harper the 2 out walk and then throws him out to get out of the inning. Nice job by the young man.
Agon finally gets a hit but reddick ends the inning with the popout. Getting to those stress bats some of you guys were talkin bout. Good thing its a 1-0 game one swing of the bat can fix that
after we throw Werth out at home to end the inning. Lil Pederson goes yard to tie the game. boom. Runs Scherz.
Ruiz comes up big with the hit that gives us the lead. 2 on and 1 out with Seager up to bat. Cory has been 0-14 (i think) outside of the 1st inning in this series. He needs a big hit.
