Ugh hate these bad slides. Once again the thing that has plagued us most (No not pitching) is hurting us again. We are leaving too many RISP. In the 3rd Miami game Agon left 8 man on base alone. In fact at one point we had bases loaded 1 out with Agon, Puig and (can't remember) come up and all struck out. Our pitching isn't locking down the world but anything at 3 runs or less should be a win for us. Our team seems to either be everyone is hitting or no one is hitting. 6 L's in a row needs to go the other way quick. Good thing is Giants haven't played lights out either.
Ugh, yeah this is so frustrating; worst stretch of losses in 3 years I think? Hope we bounce back. I hate to bring up the fact that no one wins the Division every year, but if the players collectively kinda don't seem to care, then it just might happen sooner than later.
Right?! Seems like only him and a few others like Utley and Grandal actually give a damn. Ellis and Thompson, too. Kendrick... the hell happened to him?!!! Please start winning again and make me not believe that most of you are just mailing it in this year!!
Oh yeah, Josh Ravin. Dude could throw 100 mph fastballs but was never good at control (so what's the point of being able to throw so hard? LOL) Seems strange that the 80-game suspension starts immediately even though he's already on the 60-day DL. I guess anyone on the 60-day DL can juice and not miss many games.
Okay, this month of May is gonna be extremely tough with the teams we are facing. This will really show what we're made of. It's not the end of the world if we come out with a losing record (can't believe that's even being considered); we gotta remember that. But what would ease my fears and worries is if we are at about 8 games above .500 by All-Star break in mid-July. That's about an 89-win pace, which is good. If we're .500 or below by then, then yeah, it's time to really panic.
I now feel like the Dodgers play in some other city and care about as much how their season goes. Accordingly. Aside from reading about Kershaw's exploits.
This summer the Dodgers didn't want to pay for pitchers and surprise surprise their pitching staff besides Kershaw is garbage. They deserve it. I hope they miss the playoffs.
How is Samarja doing? How is Cueto doing? Aroldis Chapman is looking good. How long are you going to defend an ownership group that doesn't care about you man? They've not helped their fans watch games and they got cheap this summer because they thought they had enough pitchers in the pipeline to make it work. They didn't. I hope they miss the playoffs, they deserve it. If they're not going to give us the best product they can then they deserve to lose.
Haha. Please tell me you wanted to give Shark $18 million per after he had a 5 ERA the year before. He has a career 4 ERA, so I doubt he keeps this up. Also, Cueto and Maeda have very similar ERAs. And Kazmir is pitching better than both Greinke and Price, and he's look better the last 3 or 4 games now. Oh yeah and Chapman fired gun shots around his girlfriend and choked her. There's that. Sure, I guess we could try and SIGN ALL THE PLAYERS, but this isn't MLB2K or whatever. We signed 2 out of 6. Tell me again how management doesn't care?
I don't how many times I have to tell you but I don't give a flying **** how much money we give any player. You know why? There's no salary cap and the group that owns the team prints its own money. WHY THE F*** DO WE CARE WHAT THEY SPEND ON WHAT? Just get pitchers that don't blow *** on the mound! The Dodgers are 13-18 on days when Clayton Kershaw is not pitching. Nobody in the bullpen besides Jansen has an ERA under 3.00 right now. Baez' ERA is almost 5 and Hatcher's is over 6! Luis Avilan's ERA is over 40! Their bullpen is f***ing garbage and if you can't see that, then there's nothing I have left to say to you. As for why they don't care: do you seriously not get it? How many times do I have to say it? Vin Scully has announced his last season, but this Dodgers management is too cheap to find a way to get their own city to watch the legend leave baseball. They're so obsessed with their own money that they're willing to force their constituents to pay for an inferior product in order to see the voice of baseball's last year. It's selfish, it shows a lack of character, and it spits directly into the face of their own fans. This is the third year now that they've been content with at best half the city seeing their games. How is that caring for the fans? Is that really something you like to support? On top of that, they leak bull**** about not wanting to pay for players to improve the team even if they have the money. Why? Why should we as fans have to wait to be great while they decide not to spend money they can afford? It'd be like the Lakers having an opportunity to sign people this summer, people willing to come here, but deciding "nah we've got young guys who can figure it out" and then acting surprised when the team stinks. Really? It's a big shocker this team is a .500 team when they've got a horrible pitching staff that wasn't fixed. Shocker. We're worse than NL average in hits, runs, RBIs, home runs, we're last in stolen bases, we're below average in on base percentage, and we're among the worst in slugging. Oh! But we're above average in leaving players on base! We got that going for us! This is a mediocre product brought to you by greed. I've been a Dodger fan my whole life and I've never been more disgusted by this team. They have all the resources to provide a champion and they don't. Not only do they not give you everything they can, but they spit on you by not showing the games in their own f***ing market. You want to support that? Fine, but try to open your eyes to the way they treat you.
If anything, it's the hitting that's losing us games, not the pitching. Look at Turner, Puig, Grandal, Kendrick, Hernandez and Ellis. All numbers significantly down. Not something you can blame the front office. Even Utley and Gonzalez aren't hitting well at home. Actually you're right, middle relief has been horrible, with Howell, Hatcher, and Baez being bad. But no one predicted they would be THIS bad. O'Day didn't want to be a Dodger, we didn't want to trade Pederson for Andrew Miller, and Ken Giles is pitching like crap. But hey guess who we got to improve the bullpen? Blanton, Coleman, and Liebertore who have all pitched well for us so far.
Another masterpiece by the best Dodgers pitcher since Sandy Koufax. I read about it this morning. Sounds like it would have been swell to watch.
Kershaw is basically the only person I care about at this point. I like Gonzo. I like Seager. Guys like Kike and Turner are characters, but I don't care much about those guys. I care about Kershaw and how great he is. I hope Kershaw gets out of here honestly. I hope he gets traded or something so he can be on a more competitive team during his prime years.
Great series win over the Mets. Loved seeing us wallop their bullpen in the Maeda game who has been brilliant most of the year. Too bad we threw a stinker in Chicago, but at least Alex Wood and our bullpen were very solid. Tomorrow is Arietta day, and Cubs have won, what, the last 25 games he's pitched in? Not gonna be fun to watch unless you're a Cubs' fan, but hey all streaks are broken at some point. Hopefully we take one of these next two games.
