yeah but ONLY 1 championship since 1988. Should have had two or three. I always get worried about them in the playoffs.

It happens. The whole short season thing is a funny argument given that they usually dominate the regular season. Baseball has high variance and you need to be in form and have luck to win the WS. Who would've thought the Mets, Braves would also tank out by this time? I'm not surprised they lost to the Padres given that they were in form, beat the Mets, and got 3 great starting pitchers who've had a history of doing well vs. the Dodgers.

Roberts needs to be let go and major change needs to happen to this team. His move to take out Almonte when he already started to pitch to Croneworth was a disaster. The Padres hitters already knew how Kahnle was going to pitch to them as he faced two of the same batters in Game 3.

Yes, these guys could not hit to save their life when they were RISP but what do you expect when Muncy, JT, CT3, Bellinger all were hitting below average before coming in? It's time for a makeover and bring in their prospects (Outman, Busch, Vargas, etc.) and a new manager.

I guess I'm truly over baseball if this happened and I didn't even know all year. For all I know this has been going on for multiple years lol.

Now you have two 80~ win NL teams vying to get into the World Series. The Mariners almost beat the Astros too. This should tell you how awful the MLB playoffs are in determining who wins the championship.

Yes Dodgers choked and these are the rules we play under so we have to accept it and deal with it. No sport is perfect but this part of baseball definitely blows, but again, just something we have to accept and deal with.

The first series (Dodgers v Padres) should be 7 games also. That's only 3 of them unlike the NBA with 4. IMO.

What's the argument here? Note: I'm a Phillies fan, but I'm not trolling. An 80-win team could have been without key players for large stretches of the season (like the Phillies were). They're now at full strength.

No knock on the Phillies. Point is postseason sample size is really too small to determine who the champion is. I mean the Pirates beat us what 5 out of 6 games this year, and they were second to last place. This would almost never happen in the NBA.

Only real way to better determine the MLB champ is to shorten the regular season and change the playoff format to some sort of tournament ala FIBA or something, maybe even stretch the last couple of series to best of 9. That would lessen the "small sample size" that has plagued the current playoff format since the beginning.

I'm probably talking out of my a** lol but at the end of the day, it is what it is now, and it's what we have to roll it.

So good to have DODGER baseball back! Slow start for Julio but he settled down, Will Smith looked great and so did the young kids at the plate. Took too long to get going but when they did they got it going. Like to see Betts/Max to do more at the plate tomorrow. Really like Will in the 3 spot.

Muncy has got to get this figured out. 5 Ks in 5 at bats is not a good start. But how about Outman?

I think Max will. He has a great eye and he doesn't do too much with his swing. They were talking about how he had to change his swing and everything the last two seasons. He finally, according to the announcer, is going back to his preinjury swing. The guy, when on, is a damn beast.

Outman looks like the real deal. Comfortable in Center, confident at the plate. The guy loooks every bit a ball player. Will be interesting to see how he does when the slump hits.

yea he looked really good. Sucks one pitch killed the W. Bats were unlucky we had some great hits that were right at people. Disappointing loss. Still need Mookie and Max to get going
