Can we just keep it open&use it towards a trade package along w/some of our player(s)&/or draft pick(s)?
If the answer is yes, because I dont see why youd have to use it right away ESPECIALLY since injury occured during pre-season&after F/A. Were going to wait until the deadline for the best deal possible... IMO if no solid player is worth taking on which again IMO would be a LEGIT scrappy defender&3pt capable shooting SF,I say you take on a bad contract for the year for picks.

Medical retirement is useless now. Might as well keep him as an expiring for whatever deal that may come up.
I put up the title "C Bags Waive Will Bynum" but instead it automatically put up "C bags Waive Will Bynum". LOL Great feature to this new site.
If we were going after a PG I'd pick up will Bynum, still think we need depth at the SF position though.
No thank you to McGrady, the guy is absolutely done. I'd definitely take on Bynum though. Not a great player, not a great defender, but solid veteran who can give us minutes? hell yeah.
i wouldn't mind Will Bynum..get some insurance at the 1...if either Lin or Price go down, it will be a struggle
Pardon lazy question..... if Will Bynum and Mo Williams are both available (?) ..... Are they? Who do you like better? Every time I watch Mo play I think he has game we could use certainly. (after total failure with Nash experiment) Not familiar that much with Bynum. But wow to have Lin and Williams or Bynum, Price and Clarkson ......I'd be feeling pretty damn good about the point. Others on our squad (with health) could certainly help out as needed or for matchups.... >>> in the Princeton.
I've always got the feeling that both are chuckers, and typically, the offense ends with them shooting the ball. Not they type of point guards we need in this system. I'll lean towards Mo Williams because he's a good shooter from outside. Peyton Siva seems to be a name thrown out there that can be had without using the DPE. He's a defense first PG much like Price, but also can shoot and make plays. I'd rather take a chance on the young guy. I was disappointed we didn't take him when we went for Kelly, but lets see. Again, I'd prefer to use the DPE on some SF depth.
If we are granted the DPE, I'm assuming Nash's roster spot is opened. Leaving: Lin/Price Kobe/Clarkson/Ellington Wes/Young/Henry Boozer/Randle/Kelly Hill/Davis/Sacre
Yeah but Mitch said he doesn't expect it to be granted for weeks. These players might be gone by then, we need players now. If Ellington can be cut at any time after he's healed up I say do that.
If I'm one of those players (Bynum/Williams), I'd probably be looking at contenders anyways. Who wants to sign for the Lakers only to share whatever minutes are left from Jeremy Lin starting?
