No way he deals D-Will. He rather get rid of other assets but thats also his main attraction all while still losing money. Not happening.
Cavs released Will Cherry and Pelicans released Patric Young. Cherry is point guard who was a 3 time First-team All-Big Sky (2011–2013) and a Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year (2012, 2013). Young is a center/ power forward who was a SEC Defensive Player of the Year (2014), SEC All-Defensive Team (2014), Second-team All-SEC (2014), 3x All-SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year (2012–2014), Third-team Academic All-American (2014) and a SEC All-Freshman Team (2011). Lakers are weak at back up Center and PG. They need defense. Mitch needs to have them work out at El Segundo.
I thought young was going to be useful, too, but the fact that NO gave up on him so quickly is a bit bothersome. I know they're rumored to be going after help right now, but that was supposed to be the benefit to getting young, right? I read this as "dude's not ready", which could mean that he won't be ready. but...he's probably better than sacre...well, maybe. I haven't seen one second of will cherry, but you had me at "conference dpoy". even if he's just a young Ronnie price, that's ok. I'm still intrigued by quincy miller. a guy that tall with that shot/skill set seems like he could find a place in the league. cue Austin daye reference...
Cant wait for the trade deadline to come to see if we unload any players and bringing in any expiring contracts for picks via our DPE.
I see him scurrying over to Cleveland or maybe going to Dallas or San Antonio. Those two seem like decent fits for him.
Its actually pretty amazing how many game changers are posible for trades: carmelo, rondo, d will, joe johnson , lopez.
