http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/05/18/bernstein-derrick-rosejimmy-butler-tension-marred-game-6/ Apparently, tension grew between Rose and Butler. I'm not sure how true this is because I never got that impression from the two of them before. However, a few Bulls fans did say that Rose stopped being assertive / Butler kept bringing his man over to Rose and demanding the ball. So...BUTLER TO LA?!
Butler is really good, but be careful of a player who improves a lot in a contract year. Odds are they'll drop back to pre-contract averages after big pay day. I'd take him, but not sure I'd back the Brinks truck up to get him.
I'd break it in half to get him. Even if he doesn't take another step forward in development, he's a great perimeter defender and a max contract for him right now is going to look super reasonable when the cap blows up. His max now will be half the max of Durant next summer. Just sayin'!
I bet it's nothing. If you are Rose, and you've been injured for 3 years, you are probably glad to have another baller on the team to get buckets. I'm sure they have some balance to work out since they can both be go to guys, but I don't buy the issues for a second. For being so talented offensively, their offense stunk in the playoffs. Thibs is a great defensive coach, but their offensive wasn't in sync with so many people out during the year. Too bad, as I wanted to see them take Lebron out. As it is, Lebron probably makes it to the Finals, and then is blown out by Golden State. I think they probably match up better with the Rockets, so hoping Golden State takes it all the way.
This Bulls team was the deepest they've been in years. On paper they are 3 deep at every position full of defensive and offensive weapons. Yet their offense still looks as bad as it did the past couple years, maybe its the fault of Thibs and his offensive schemes but there are times where it looks like they can't even score against the ball boys.
That would go for pretty much ALL of the swingmen this coming summer... Carroll, Middleton, Harris...who has even mentioned these guys names before this year?
Yikes. Sounds like a lot of fun. I think Rose is a pretty tragic story. He's an odd cat and his body is just about done. I think his days in the NBA are numbered and even though he's Chicago's son I think he'll be gone from that team sooner rather than later.
