wouldn't give him up for Morris but still Green has been rather underwhelming as far as his consistency goes and his Def is quite overrated
I've been pretty disappointed with Green so far, but would not of traded him and Kuz. Hopefully he turns it around and is more consistent in the second half of the year, or at least the playoffs.
Guy is garbage, worst signing by a mile. I rather see Rondo out there than him (and his D is overrated as f***).
Positive spin lol This is the stuff that bothers me. I don’t want to hear anything you have to say if you can’t bother to show up and play, sorry.
I really don't know what to think. Lately, I don't notice Green at all. Like, there are no good plays, no horrible plays... nothing at all. Like he's not on the floor. 3&D player, where you don't see the threes or the D. Fortunately, if that continues he's going to be a nice walking expiring contract which can be packaged with someone for... someone else.
If we don't win it this season, I think he will be packaged with Kuzma for something valuable. A legit third option like DeRozan, maybe Indiana moves on from Oladipo, who knows? But Green's minutes could have been dispersed among KCP and Caruso and we'd likely have a better record.
Well said. I am hoping he is saving himself a little and turns it on in the playoffs, when the game becomes more physical. Maybe hits a game winning 3 or something. Otherwise I just don't see an advantage of him being of the floor. It's not like he does anything stupid... it's just that he often does not do anything at all aside from, you know... being there, if that makes sense. Maybe it's just temporary, because he did have a very nice start of the season, and people still don't want to leave him open for 3, due to his reputation.
I think everyone here loves Danny Green. We just can't help that he's getting paid $15 million when he is worth like $8 million. We overpaid him because he was one of the last few valued players that late into the game but at the same time, he has not shown that he is worth that money yet. If he balls out in the playoffs, that changes everything.
As long as the Green who played for the Raptors in last year's playoffs shows up in the playoffs this year, I'll be happy. Then we move him in the off season.
We got him for the playoffs, and I expect him to be playing much better in the playoffs. I’ll reserve judgement until then since he’s not a net negative for the team like Rondo
i mean, here he is: https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/greenda02.html very good team defender, average iso defender, a guy defenses better watch in the corner. net positive on the floor. tends to stay on the floor. feel like we basically got what we thought we were getting. more than one team wanted to pay him 15 per for more than one year. for good reason, i think. but that's a playoff thing. let's see. if not, he becomes valuable trade ballast. win/win.
Maybe Danny Green is more important to us than he seems from his sometimes disappearing act. I guess we needed him vs. Memphis.
