Once again, if we only have aspirations to do okay throughout the regular season, DLo is great.
I just wish he could be trusted in the playoffs.
I was never in on a trade for Klay.
Signing him for the MLE for 2-3 years would have been fine by me.

had he opted out, we maybe could have gotten valanciunas at the mle with lebron's blessing, but that's the best that could have happened, imo.

we're better off that he opted in.

We're WAYYY better off with DLO opting in.

We need as many big contracts as we can get our hands on if we wanna swap out a few guys for a star (while not completely killing our depth)

    Now you got:

    DLO - $19M (expiring)
    Rui - $17M
    Vando - $12M
    Vincent - $11M
    JHS - $4M
    Wood - $3M (expiring)
    Reddish - $2.6M (expiring)
    Hayes - $2.6M (expiring)
    Lewis - $2M

    Total = $73.2M
Total Expiring = $27.2M (VERY attractive)

Lakers have a lot of flexibility now to make moves If they need to for the right deal out there.

Rob moved fast on all his non drafted pick contracts. He knows exactly what he wants and follows through on it immediately.

he has not seen exactly what we want or need in the free agency market yet, or he would have busted out a move. Sometimes the right move is to be patient. Be the adult in the room while the children run out and then impulsively spend all of their money. Let reality sink in.

Good wisdom, you can solve most problems with this old Confucius saying, "he who fly upside down have crack up", kept me alive so far.

    You know what? Eff it

Bring DLO back. He opted in, and he was good for us last year.

Let's just give it another shot

Brings up a story somewhat bball related. I was headed home after playing ball on my snowmachine and hooked up with a friend. We smoked a bowl of Matanuska Thunderf*&#. Afterwards, I got lost on a trail I had driven a 1000 times. Turned out I was headed the wrong way out on a frozen river. I can remember looking around thinking where the heck am I. It was pretty cool. Kind of relates to those sayings.

I think he'd be traded by the deadline as well so we don't lose the asset for nothing.

Except are we gonna lose him for nothing? What if we just sign him for less money next summer cuz nobody else wants to pay him?

We'd still have his bird rights...he'd still only be 29 years old...

IDK, I just think having DLO had $18M vs someone like FVV for $43M just seems like a better bet for us, and it also allows us to have a better team around him. I think it'll be on JJ to figure out how to utilize DLO in the playoffs, but idk, I'm just not seeing a better deal out there that makes us better and if we're trying to have LeBron more off ball next year...trading DLO isn't going to help that!

I think jj is going to have DLO playing such good ball we will not only not trade him but will resign him. Like you said it is up to the coach to figure out to use him and I'm confident he will. Such an exciting season coming up.
