Oh, I think he'll opt in. Orlando might ***pay him***, but I would take that chance.

Thing is: once he opts in, there's a good chance, he's gone.

We messed up his flow, by playing Dinwiddie and Vincent. Gotta have more faith in him.

I'm sure that will be his spin on things.

Any physical or athletic team is a bad matchup for him unfortunately. I agree it’s bad asset management, but as a Laker you need to be a playoff performer and he’s not, if he gets any resistance or his shot isn’t falling he just stops playing, no making an impact with assists and playmaking or on defense. No teams want to trade for him either or he’d have been gone at the deadline, so he’s not really an asset in that regard either apparently, unless you’re strictly counting expiring salary and even then we have to attach picks. So I don’t really care if he walks, he’s been on as many teams as he has and been traded as much as he has clearly for a reason. I really stuck up for him this season, but man, he did it again vs Denver, so fool me twice shame on me. You can’t be our 3rd best player and make what he makes and put up ZERO points in a must win game 3. He missed WIDE open shots.

Issac and a 1st rd pick is a far exchange. Orlando could use D'Angelo.

    He failed.

Plain and simple - he was once again a HUGE letdown.

I think he still opts out...but he may not get what he's looking for as evrybody will remember his playoff performances from the last 2 playoff series...

As I've said about D-Lo: I love his style; when he's on his game is really jazzy and cool. But his albatross has been that he chokes in big games. He choked in Game 1 and it must've been really dark for him.

Then he hits 7 3s in Game 2. We lost in one of the worst Laker losses in history, but it was redemptive for D-Lo.

Now: He had to come out in Game 3 and - not hit 7 3s, although that would've won us the game - but maybe, ya know, 4 out of 9. But 0-6? In a third straight loss? In a must-win game at home?

He torched his own career as a Laker right there. Tonight. Even got booed by the faithful. IF he had gone 4 for 9 and we still lost I don't think we're really even thinking about this. But 0-7 overall? What at difference a game makes. 72 little hours...

However it turns out, I don't see him playing for us next year. Which sucks because I love the dude's style, but man: the choke thing is just too much for any of us to bear, is it not?

He just cost himself 10s of millions.

I really felt we needed to start Dinwiddie in this series for a better ability to attack the paint and penetrate. Just seems like the better fit. DLO still had a big role to play, but he hasn’t been used very well IMHO.

The Coach needs to make the tough rotation calls, but this one has been a hot potato for him. We just went up in flames while our starting PG laid an egg.

if nothing else, a good coach knows exactly how a good team will counter you, and has options prepared. Ham doesn’t seem to have the ability to make much in the way of adjustments except game to game. Not during the game.

we’re getting outplayed and out coached

a better coach could hide DLO’s flaws better

a better coach would get him better shots

but DLO will lose 10’s of millions having played for this below average coach

    They are both gone IMHO

He can't play in big games.... or perhaps he's just truly awful against Denver. Who knows. At this point I think he is gone. He needs to opt out and control his destiny (although he lost a lot of $$ with this no-show) and we'll get.... well... nothing. It will make the rebuild harder and we'll be forced to go with some cheap mercenaries again. And we know how that usually goes.

Ham has been ripped all year for benching guys. I honestly dont think it would have been received any differently if he had done it this series.

obviously not a ham supporter, but i'm not sure what to do if you're the coach here. it looked like he was going to fully bench dlo, but then he brought him back late. i can see why you'd do both things.

i said during the game we didn't do him any favors by not running anything for him. he only got six shots, and you could tell he forced a couple because he knew he needed to get involved, and those ended up exacerbating the problems.

dlo will play better for another team next year, and our replacement for him will likely be an inferior player or an inferior fit with our stars. that said, i don't see how you can keep him after this. even if you fire ham (which you must do. must. do.).

He's so streaky. He got good looks IMo in the first quarter and he missed or just didn't want to shoot. He then put up tough jumpers

    Arrg frustrating player.

the worst part of all of this is potentially losing DLO this summer and getting NOTHING in return.

I guess we should have traded him at the deadline after all...but we took a risk and it blew up in our face

from an asset management perspective - this will be a huge loss and remember, we gave up a first round pick int hat DLO trade in 2027 I believe.

Even tho he's bad against Denver, I still try to retain him but just not at $30M or whatever. I don't think he's getting that from another team either.

In a weird way, he played himself probably into a respectable contract but not an albatross one...if he's int he $18-22M range, we should def retain him so we don't lose him for nothing. Then, you offload him, Gabe, JHS and 3 first round picks for someone really good and you call it a day.

to to agree here, there are no plays for him, spam is basically using him as a 3pt specialist to stand at the 3pt line, there were nights he went off but he did on his own by attacking the paint to. Whatever Den is doing on Def its working big time, the paint is packed for ad to operate while also somehow managing to not give this team good 3pt opportunities to boot. That one play where all 5 Den players were in the paint beating up on Ad said alot in this game and our "offense"
