Interested to see what he might bring back myself

However, I am more interested to see A.) If he can become more consistent. B.) How he meshes with Ball.

And come on guys, talking about potential trades isn't ripping a player or being negative. Just typical message board discussion (or so I thought).

Yeah. I'd definitely like to know what he can bring back.

I'm starting to think we will give the young core one more go around with Luke though. I'm fine with that too.

Theres no guarantee Russell even becomes as good as Butler, im willing to put $ that Russell never becomes as good as Butler defensively

Give it one more year. If Ball turns into Jason Kidd, Lakers won't have to do anything until next year.

I don't see how Russell/#28/Deng for Butler is anything short of highway robbery for the Lakers. Obviously Butler doesn't make us contenders, but so effing what? He makes us a hell of a lot better and a hell of a lot more attractive to anyone not only this summer, but next. Who would George rather play with? Russell or Butler? Not only do we get a better player, but that player takes up the contract we were giving to Deng... It's a win-win.

Oh I completely agree it's nonsense. It was just something thrown out there by some random fans and somehow there's Laker fans that think we don't win that deal.

    Imagine....

    Our 2018 starting lineup

    Ball
    Butler
    George
    Ingram
    Zubac

    Super bench

    Jc/ennis?
    Nwaba
    Brewer
    Randle/black
    Nance/mozgov

That's a deep solid contender in my book.

They also all need to work on their abductor and adductor muscles so they can play some defense. Out lateral movement needs help..lol

I know these are all just scenarios here, but I feel like I'm in a minority here. I'd do everything to keep deangelo... I like his numbers for only being in his second year. He's a great shooter, I feel he's a decent defender, and he's a large point guard.

Ball hasn't played one NBA game and everyone is proclaiming him a better point guard...

I've seen nothing to make me think Russell and Ball wont both be outstanding players. I want Ball bringing the ball up bc he adds pace to the game. More likely to get a quick easy score and that he does look for the simpler play, which is usually the best play. That they are so interchangeable is a huge plus. We keep our patience we are loaded.

The Lakers aren't in a position to wait for a move that makes them title contenders. The playoffs are still a long shot. Butler CAN make the Lakers title contenders because having him will bring others. Thats how the NBA works now. Imagine Ball/butler/Ingram/PG/Zu/randle/clarkson/nance Thats a mean looking team for the next 5-6 years at least.

Well I don't know about all of this "maybe he made a mistake, or someone else had his phone" crap. Please. DAR clicked like. Fact is he has a galactically large ego and the tweet was propping him whether he likes Ball here or no so he clicked it. Imo he probably, after his head swelled down a bit, realized the tweet also looked anti-Ball and then deleted it. Wouldn't make much out of it other than the fact that DAR's ego actually blinds him. He probably wishes Lavar was his dad.

Eh. Liking and then unliking that tweet doesn't seem like much to me (I've certainly done that before) but I'm sure its going to be over analyzed for the next few days.
